Heres a great weekend I've got planned in August if anyone is interested in joining me. I know that a lot of you might want to do the XXX Root Beer All Corvette Show which is always a blast, well lets add a show on Saturday also. A bunch of us have done the Skykomish Show and Shine before, it's on Saturday August 22nd and then we can travel from Skykomish through the mountains to Issaquah, spend the night and do the XXX Root Beer All Corvette Show on August 23rd.

Skykomish is a cute little Railroad Town in the mountains up State Route 2 (aka the highway of death) and they shut down the whole tiny downtown for the great show and shine, they have a awsome pancake breakfast, and lots of great raffle prizes, just ask Larry about his cute Christmas Vest that he won LOL

LOL

Anyone else interested in doing the two shows? I'm going to make my reservations at the Grand Motel 6 in Issaquah for the night of the 22nd, who else is interested?

We need to get together and do some cruising. You had the car out much? I've already had numerous "top-off" cruises locally around town and down on the waterfront.

Larry and Ed, are you planning on doing both shows. Karla and I are driving up to Skykomish early Saturday morning, spending Saturday night in Issaquah. We will have to come up with a place to meet in Tacoma or along I-5, maybe the rest area by the Water Park would be good, what do you think?

I've got my reservations for Sat. night in Issaquah also and doing both shows.

Ed, I'd be coming off of SR512 and connecting to I-5. We have met up at the scales in Auburn before, it's just before you get on to SR-18E. What do you think?

I think meeting at the rest area above the truck stop and by wild waves, it is an easy trip to hiway 18 from there. let me know what time we should arrive, maybe I'll trest drive a vette for the week end Smile

I am going to make both days. it may be tuff for kathy and I to make the meet at 630. I havent looked to see how long of a drive from woodland to the meeting spot yet, but if we dont make it to the meeting spot we will meet up at the show you will have to save me a spot

Hey mark do you have any more info on the times for the Skykomish Show and Shine? It looks like it will be a 3-4 hr ride for us from woodland so I am not sure we will make your meeting place, we will most likely have to meet at he show. Are any of the Wifes/Girlfreinds interested in getting a rental car so they can look around or will they be toughing it out at the shows?

I am at a trade show and wont get home till Sat night but will drag my tail up early and make the Sunday deal.

I agree with Larry. That's the jump-off point for us to lineup to cruise into the show together anyway. So having the "Sunday Only" folks meet us at the Motel 6 sounds like a good idea.

Does anyone have info on the Sat show times etc I did a search i see the show but no info on times. I beleive it is going to take Kathy and I about 3 - 4 hrs to get there, so I dont think we can make your meeting point, so we would have to meet you guys near or at the show. you might have to save me an opening by your cars so we can all be together.

the ad i see in the cruizn mag list 9am to 4pm would it be possible for you and cathy to stay up here by us and drive with us that would break it up for you, could look into in laws motor home for the evening just down the alley from us, think about it. let me know

Bo we would love to have you both you join us for either or both shows Thumbs Up

Saturday and Sunday show folks meet up at the I-5 rest area (WildWaves) at 6:30. JT, and anyone else doing Sunday only meet at the Motel 6 in Issaquah at 7am. We need to get in line at the XXX early if we want to get a good spot like last year.

If anyone needs maps or directions to either show let me know and I'll work something up.

punch in the wild waves in federal way that will get you very close we are about 2 hours from the rest area from our house which woulud make it about 3.5 or 4 hours from your house to federal way

Maybe I can work something out for you two with a place to stay. Karla and I have a spare bedroom you could use, I'll have to ask her, that way we can head out to the meeting point together Saturday morning.

Oh ya, I got an email from Andrea who is running the show in Skykomish. In past years they did the show on their little main street right in downtown, but because of the big clean-up the show will be held at the baseball field about two miles east of town on Hwy 2, it should be very easy to find. The town is undergoing a major clean-up from years and years of oil spillage by the railroad. I guess this cute little town in the mountains is pretty tore up Ouch

Bob there's no problem registering at the Skykomish show, I think I'm the only one preregistered. This is the first year that the XXX All Corvette Show doesn't have a preregistration. I'm really looking forward to this weekend, it's been waaayyyy too long since we all got together.

Saturday - I'm going to say we start to gather at the Wild Wave Rest Area at 6:30, leave out at 7:00.

Sunday - Meet up at the Motel 6 / IHOP Parking lot at 7:00 leave out around 7:30. If you don't get to the XXX early we may not find room to put all our Vettes together, this show fills up fast.

So who's still in? Please let me know so we have an idea on who we might be missing when we leave out on Sat. and Sun. You can send a PM to - Cilrah See ya all There Thumbs Up

I have had the Blow By issues with my baby, I am in the process of swapping out the engine. If I can get it done in time I am still coming. It is going to be down to the wire. I am not sure I will make the meet at wild waves I may havee to meet you at the show Sat. Cross your finger and say a little prayer and I will be there.

Reading this thread is breaking my heart. The wife has been trying to get me to take her to the XXX Rootbeer show for a few yrs. now, she says it's her destiny (that'll teach me to give cars names),but we gotta save up if we want to make the 2010 gathering. Not much goes on in Nor. Cal. though I have been able to get together with one of our members about 85 mi. from us, OSSW1/Dave, great guy. We get together often now. Sorry guys, didn't mean to intrude on your thread but every time I hear of the XXX rootbeer stand show I start getting excited. Maybe in 2011 . Have a good time and don't forget to fill us in on the fun. Thanks.
