well after going crazy the last couple weeks with the 90, i finally
figured out what was wrong with it. wanted to blow the car up it was
driving me that crazy.
anyway now that the 75 is back, i went back to the 90. installed a new
fuel pump as the one in it went bad. still wouldn't start. a friend who
does a lot of work on the cars with computers, was giving me things to
check for and trying to help figure out what was going on. i was asking
him a few questions on the different workings on the fuel injection, as
i know basics of it but not the technical side of it. one thing left as
i figured it was a no fuel problem as i did have spark previously, was
to change the fuel filter which he agreed and told me to make sure i
check the pressure on the rails. he said he had a teacher who
gave told the class to check basics first before even worrying about
the computer as that where the problems usually are.
installed the filter and no luck. checked the pressure it was on the
money. now what. did what his teacher said and started over at the
basics. checked for spark. none. already did the ignition module but
not the coil so off to the store and pick up a coil and another module.
take off the cap and sit on the front porch to install new coil. just
for the heck of it i pick up the instruction sheet and it says to make
sure to install the seconday ground clip, as without it it will
eventually burn out the coil and the cap. i look in my cap and there is
no clip like they show.
back to store and pick one up and install. CAR STARTS. a $2.13 part
drove me crazy for almost two weeks. car runs rich but still have to
install new plugs and check map sensor and vacuum hose to it for leaks.
sorry about the book i wrote.
