well things are looking better. the one scanner i bought that was supposed to do it all---didn't. wound up buying a snapon mt2500 off ebay as this is the one my friend used.

got it friday nite and didn't get a chance saturday to check it out. sunday i go out and hook it up and connects with no problem. looking thru all the info it tells me my tps is putting out 1.56 volts with closed throttle. n.g. as it shouldn't be over .75 volts. also telling me that map sensor is 5.03 volts. n.g. again as it should not be over 4.08 volts.

i go to the auto store to get them and of course they dont have the tps but they have the map sensor. i figured then i'd wait and do it all together but when i got home decided to do the map sensor so i can see if it makes any difference. install it and check scanner and volts is in the range it's supposed to be and i start it. what a difference car at least runs now (not perfect yet). tps volts dropped to 1.40 but still to high. car stalled and upon trying to restart and what do i notice? fuel guage doesn't show any gasWits%20EndAngryCensored

picked up the tps tonite along with a set of ac platinium plugs as i figued i'd change them as the ones that are in them now are probably fouled really bad. will be doing this probably tomorrow after work and after dumping some gas in the tank will hope it runs great again.ClapThumbs%20UpBig%20smile

The TPS is adjustable...perhaps someone has cranked it up a bit? Or perhaps some "Technician" has screwed the idle screw in on the throttle body?
Raising the TPS adjustment can make it run a bit better on the low end, if all else is OK. I think I have my '85 set at around 1.02v, but only after getting everything else set up correctly.
Good luck!
What kind of cartridges did ya git with the scammer?

got the 1999 domestic primary, 1997 t/s. and import primary and t/s and all the cables. getting the printer for it too as i have trouble remembering my name let alone all these numbersBig%20smile. right now map sensor made the biggest difference. tps is as low as i can get it and idles way too fast. idles set screw is all the way out too as that was the first adjmust ment i tried. will install tps tonite and change plugs as they must be all fouled too. thought egr was sticking open but it is working properly and glad i don't have to mess with that. hopefully after tonites work and putting some gas in it it will be running fine again.
