I'm having a terrible problem......and the problem is I would kinda like to have a NEW Vette. Evil%20Smile I don't have a warrenty on the C3 or the C5.  Mainly, the warrenty thing sounds really good and very practicle/logical on a new one.  I don't really like the headlights or where they put "C O R V E T T E" on the C6's.  I don't like the push button start on the dash either (it's different).  Don't want to get rid of the C3.  I thought about trading in the C5....but it's become an "old buddy."  The main problem is I don't have a place to put a new C6.  One car would have to be outside with a cover on it.  Why am I having such a hard time stopping myself from thinking and looking at the new C6's???  It's an awful delima......Evil%20Smile.....
.................................any thoughts?Confused

If the beans counter says it's ok; go ahead and get the C6.  Let the C5 sleep outside.  I'm just glad you didn't even think of selling the C3.

I had my mid-life crisis about 3 times already.  Always regretted it the following month or 2, then it gets better (and I'm 33, so I got a few more to go).

Trade in the C5. You won't regret it.
And just forget about the depreciation factor. The really good things in life ain't free.

Have you taken a C6 for a drive? I mean really drive one, like for a day or 2? I have and it changed my mind. I like the exterior looks and performance. I don't like the cheesy interior. It is pretty pathetic for a $53K car. (mostly colored plastic)

It was small inside and the vert was smaller. Mrs. Tux said no right outta the chute unless it was gonna be my car. I had more issuses with lettin go of the dough for the car it just wasn't what I expected it to be for the value... Just my .02 and not meant to offend!

GO DRIVE THE CAR(`06) QUITE IMPRESSIVE. I`VE CONSIDERED TRADING IN MY C5. YOU CAN UPGRADE TO BODY COLOR OR CARBON COMPOSITE  PANELS ON THE INTERIOR AND THEY LOOK MUCH BETTER THAN THE BLACK PLASTIC. ALL IT TAKES IS MONEY AND HOW MUCH YOUR WILLING TO PART WITH.  AS FOR THE MID-=LIFE CRISIS WELL I`VE HAD THEM ALL MY LIFE .I`M ONLY 47.  ENJOY THE RIDE

I'm experiencing the same thing, Micki.  It's gotta be mid-life for me...I want a new Vette, a new Mustang and a Vette for Mike.  I feel the need to buy a new daily driver but it has to be sporty.  But I'd love to have a new or newer Vette.  It's a dilemma...what to do....  Wacko I gotta wait it out a while and see what happens.  May have a new job opportunity on the horizon.  That could change the picture a tad!

I agree that if you have the money, go for it!!!  One can never have too many Vettes!!!  Thumbs%20Up

Y'all need to read this book...

DIE BROKE

It will help you understand Mid Life Crisis better and how to adjust to it...

Course I understand Nurse Micki may be over her MID LIFE CRISIS today since it is her BIRTHDAY....

Maybe a nice LEASE VETTE is the answer.... Garage is not an issue then...

I'm nowhere near the neighborhood of a C6, but I will heartily agree with you on that Tux.  I check these cars out when I see them at the auto show and at cruise ins.  I just think it is a cheap, basic....  I can't even think of the words to describe how ...blah...  the interior is on them.

Does that mean I'd turn one down, no, but I think the brass could do something to give it some pizazz...

I thought when you buy a new Corvette the first thing you do is get out all the catalogs and start ordering all the goodies; new exhaust, new intake, chrome everything, custom accessories on the body and new seats.LOL

My .02.  Measure your garage for height.  Then, since you are in Indianapolis, go to Complete Hydraulics in Franklin and for $1595 you can get a four post lift that you can install in your garage.  Quality is the same as the Greg Smith version.  You can install a stop so you don't jam the top car through the ceiling.  If you have slightly more than 8', it will work but it is tight.  Sure they are made in China but I have two of them and they are great and you will not be operating a 20-30 times per day oil change service.  They offer a 110v motor or a 220v for the same price; I have one of each and the 220v is much better.  Oh yes, you may have to change your garage door to a roll up so the door does not smack into the top car.  Good luck; this is a solution to have three.  It worked for me.

Woops, sorry about the Indianaoplis, one of the postings showed Indianapolis.  But, I have also seen those lifts being sold from Texas somewhere.

Then I must be having a mid-life crises too!

I went and test drove a C6 and it is fantastic!  Yeah, the quality isn't there on the inside, but the car is fast and drives great.  I've decided to wait until next year based upon all I've read about the '08s.  The two-toned interior looks great, I like the rims better, and the performance is tweaked a bit.  Of course the C7 will be out in a few years, but I have no idea of what that will look like yet.

My 2 cents would be to get an '08 and trade the C5 in on the car.

Micki,
That's a chunk of change for the perceived peace of mind of a factory warranty. Especially given the list of things that you dislike about the C6. I'd rather buy a nice C2 driver and tuck some extra money away each month for a maintenance account. It would still be cheaper than the total payment on a C6.
Just my opinion.

............Huuuuuuuuummmmmm, those "LIFT IDEAS" (stacker) sound pretty good...........it is a CHUNK of CHANGE for a new car.  Darn, I'm havin' a rough go at making up my mind.  DeadConfused

I like the C5, but is it a better car than the C6.....more reliable?  So far, the C5's had a couple of "kinks", but basically it's a good car.  What are some of the "kinks" in the C6's?  The only thing I've heard is the top comes off while your driving down the freeway and I think that problem was solved for the 07's.  EmbarrassedWhat's so good about the 2008's??

There are plenty of drivers out there for 30K-45K. I am looking at one now around the 30K range...numbers correct but not matching. I don't care about the judging and shows. I want one to drive and enjoy. There are lots of them out there, just have to do the research.

You can get a great C3 for that kind of money, and it will increase instead of decrease in value. But you're the one that has to live with the choice.
I'm sure you will be happy with any of the above.
