I'm having a terrible problem......and the problem is I would kinda like to have a NEW Vette.  I don't have a warrenty on the C3 or the C5.  Mainly, the warrenty thing sounds really good and very practicle/logical on a new one.  I don't really like the headlights or where they put "C O R V E T T E" on the C6's.  I don't like the push button start on the dash either (it's different).  Don't want to get rid of the C3.  I thought about trading in the C5....but it's become an "old buddy."  The main problem is I don't have a place to put a new C6.  One car would have to be outside with a cover on it.  Why am I having such a hard time stopping myself from thinking and looking at the new C6's???  It's an awful delima...........

If the beans counter says it's ok; go ahead and get the C6.  Let the C5 sleep outside.  I'm just glad you didn't even think of selling the C3.

Have you taken a C6 for a drive? I mean really drive one, like for a day or 2? I have and it changed my mind. I like the exterior looks and performance. I don't like the cheesy interior. It is pretty pathetic for a $53K car. (mostly colored plastic)

It was small inside and the vert was smaller. Mrs. Tux said no right outta the chute unless it was gonna be my car. I had more issuses with lettin go of the dough for the car it just wasn't what I expected it to be for the value... Just my .02 and not meant to offend!Tuxblacray2007-07-26 03:19:50

I'm experiencing the same thing, Micki.  It's gotta be mid-life for me...I want a new Vette, a new Mustang and a Vette for Mike.  I feel the need to buy a new daily driver but it has to be sporty.  But I'd love to have a new or newer Vette.  It's a dilemma...what to do....   I gotta wait it out a while and see what happens.  May have a new job opportunity on the horizon.  That could change the picture a tad! 

I agree that if you have the money, go for it!!!  One can never have too many Vettes!!!

My .02.  Measure your garage for height.  Then, since you are in Indianapolis, go to Complete Hydraulics in Franklin and for $1595 you can get a four post lift that you can install in your garage.  Quality is the same as the Greg Smith version.  You can install a stop so you don't jam the top car through the ceiling.  If you have slightly more than 8', it will work but it is tight.  Sure they are made in China but I have two of them and they are great and you will not be operating a 20-30 times per day oil change service.  They offer a 110v motor or a 220v for the same price; I have one of each and the 220v is much better.  Oh yes, you may have to change your garage door to a roll up so the door does not smack into the top car.  Good luck; this is a solution to have three.  It worked for me. That's a chunk of change for the perceived peace of mind of a factory warranty. Especially given the list of things that you dislike about the C6. I'd rather buy a nice C2 driver and tuck some extra money away each month for a maintenance account. It would still be cheaper than the total payment on a C6.
Just my opinion.

You can get a great C3 for that kind of money, and it will increase instead of decrease in value. But you're the one that has to live with the choice.
