Have you taken a C6 for a drive? I don't like the cheesy interior. It is pretty pathetic for a $53K car. (mostly colored plastic)  Just my .02 and not meant to offend!
I'm nowhere near the neighborhood of a C6, but I will heartily agree with you on that Tux.  I check these cars out when I see them at the auto show and at cruise ins.  I just think it is a cheap, basic....  I can't even think of the words to describe how ...blah...  the interior is on them.

Does that mean I'd turn one down, no, but I think the brass could do something to give it some pizazz...

I thought when you buy a new Corvette the first thing you do is get out all the catalogs and start ordering all the goodies; new exhaust, new intake, chrome everything, custom accessories on the body and new seats.LOL

My .02.  Measure your garage for height.  Then, since you are in Indianapolis, go to Complete Hydraulics in Franklin and for $1595 you can get a four post lift that you can install in your garage.  Quality is the same as the Greg Smith version.  You can install a stop so you don't jam the top car through the ceiling.  If you have slightly more than 8', it will work but it is tight.  Sure they are made in China but I have two of them and they are great and you will not be operating a 20-30 times per day oil change service.  They offer a 110v motor or a 220v for the same price; I have one of each and the 220v is much better.  Oh yes, you may have to change your garage door to a roll up so the door does not smack into the top car.  Good luck; this is a solution to have three.  It worked for me.

Woops, sorry about the Indianaoplis, one of the postings showed Indianapolis.  But, I have also seen those lifts being sold from Texas somewhere.

Then I must be having a mid-life crises too!

I went and test drove a C6 and it is fantastic!  Yeah, the quality isn't there on the inside, but the car is fast and drives great.  I've decided to wait until next year based upon all I've read about the '08s.  The two-toned interior looks great, I like the rims better, and the performance is tweaked a bit.  Of course the C7 will be out in a few years, but I have no idea of what that will look like yet.

My 2 cents would be to get an '08 and trade the C5 in on the car.

Micki,
That's a chunk of change for the perceived peace of mind of a factory warranty. Especially given the list of things that you dislike about the C6. I'd rather buy a nice C2 driver and tuck some extra money away each month for a maintenance account. It would still be cheaper than the total payment on a C6.
Just my opinion.

............Huuuuuuuuummmmmm, those "LIFT IDEAS" (stacker) sound pretty good...........it is a CHUNK of CHANGE for a new car.  Darn, I'm havin' a rough go at making up my mind.  DeadConfused

I like the C5, but is it a better car than the C6.....more reliable?  So far, the C5's had a couple of "kinks", but basically it's a good car.  What are some of the "kinks" in the C6's?  The only thing I've heard is the top comes off while your driving down the freeway and I think that problem was solved for the 07's.  EmbarrassedWhat's so good about the 2008's??

There are plenty of drivers out there for 30K-45K. I am looking at one now around the 30K range...numbers correct but not matching. I don't care about the judging and shows. I want one to drive and enjoy. There are lots of them out there, just have to do the research.

You can get a great C3 for that kind of money, and it will increase instead of decrease in value. But you're the one that has to live with the choice.
I'm sure you will be happy with any of the above.
