as some of you know my 90 was in an accident quite awhile ago. anyway, it is in the body shop and in the process of stripping it down as the whole car is going to be painted. in the process of installing the new roller bearings in the headlight motors as well as replacing the frames with ones from the donor car. will be painting them along with the black cover under the gas door.Thumbs Up

we are taking off the black moulding that goes around the car. now here is the question i have. there is a product out called something like back to black which is supposed to restore the plastics on cars back to black. i was going to use this but then was told by someone that it looks great when you do it but it fades real quick leaving the plastic basically looking like it was never done. the other alternative is to paint them black. has anyone ever had any experience with the back to black and if so would you recommend it?

thanks dave

I don't think you will find anything to actually remove the oxidation without damaging the surface.  Anything you use to hide it will wear off in time.  The good news is that they are now reproducing all of that trim at a fairly reasonable price.

i heard that the stuff wore off pretty quick. as far as the replacements the cost is not that reasonable in my opinion. just for the two doors it would cost $350.00. talk to the guy at the body shop and he said we can paint them and as long as we do it right they will look as good as new. thanks for your info.
