They might have looked cool but really trashed some fine, vintage Vettes. Maybe he would trade them for a bunch of VW Bugs and Buses!

He's still going to paint them though.  What a shame.  It's a pretty famous collection - wish he would donate it to the NCM.  

My bet is he ain't gonna do SQUAT with them, except sell the entire group.

I'm wid you, Joel. I found a thread yesterday on digitalcorvettes (posted 2/13/2010) that they were found again... http://www.digitalcorvettes.com/forums/showthread.php?t=134559 Honestly I'm not at all familiar with Peter Max.  I guess I should do a search to find out just who he is.  The cars are rough... I wish I could rescue every last one of them.

Look at all the colors.  His posters were pretty 'trippy'.

After all these years I liken these vettes to be the mother load of barn finds. (at least their condition represents that...)

I read it on DG and noticed that it was contingent on a business partner investment.

Ohhh to have been the original dude who won these vettes in the radio station giveaway..... D-A-M-N!!!

Some do not know of Peter Max ?  Remember Janis and Jimmie??  I know, I am one of the ole farts.  Nice cars, hope they soon see the light!!

Peter Max was like a hippy-dippy Andy Warhol. Waaaay out there, in an acidy way. His posters and art work were really brightly colored, and would make you go blind if you stared at them too long...which most of us did...since we were usually stoned at the time....
I have(at least I did have) a Max poster of John Lennon that is just bright yellow, and bright red....it hurts the eyes to look at it. He also did some early 70's album art.

Dskopp ... I'm just a few years to young to have known Janis and Jimi... but I do enjoy their music (a lot).... I've just never been into art.

I like Patrick's (Digital Corvettes founder) to purchase the 53. restore it, and put it on display at NCM.

I would be willing to donate $100.00 towards the purchase on a shark body by C3Registry. It would be awesome to have a Registry car on display.

Now theres some food for thought if Adam would want to take up the torch.

I hate stories like this, just makes you want to go and slap some sense into someone, if the guy really wanted to make an impression he would get them to someplace that would preserve them in the way they should be,( like my place).

Not only that, the Beatles' voices, other than  when they were sing, weren't their own either.   How's that for busting a bubble!

Sadly Peter Max is one of those types that always say someday I'm going to...His actions already show his lack of or should I say disrespect for an classic car. So when and if the cars are sold judging by the condition(wrecked 74,75,and other damage)wow the cost to repair them.I agree with what was said about theNCM they should get the cars so to presevre them.

I had the opportunity to see these poor Vettes up close and personal a few years back
