looking for some opinions on the rear wings that are on c4s. do they do a lot for the handling of the car or are they mostly for show? any opinions would be greatly appreciated.

I put one on an 85 years ago just for appearance. I drove it a couple of year prior to the install and felt no difference at all in the handling. I did like the look though.

I took a rear wing and modified it for my 1976, then last year on my trip to Tenneessee and back about 9000 miles, it did not fly off, maybe held the car in a stright line better, in the rain it made a little funny trail of water as I was doing 80 MPH? I don't think it added or took away from the gas mileage. Don't know..Take a look??I like it..Terry

Most of them are cosmetic only, and don't really add any downforce to the car. Some, however, such as the Greenwood pieces, and the Guldstrand one, do actually work as they are designed. Both of these types have braces that go from the bottom side of the rear deck(under the spoiler/wing) down to the frame. This is what makes them really work, adding downforce to the chassis, not just flexing the body. I'd have to say this type would be for the hard-core, solo racer/autocross guys.
For just cosmetics, the bolt-on kind is fine.
