I think the main reason the generation(s) younger than the Baby Boomers don't buy new Vettes is because they can't afford them!  At $60k, that's out of the reach of MANY people!  I would love a C7! Can I afford one, hell no! Can I afford a C6? Maybe a well used 2005.
Can I afford a Camaro, probably.  (But I doubt my wife would approve unless I replaced my Pathfinder with it).

Unless when I get to be 50 or 60 and somehow am making lots of money or managed to save a lot by then, I don't see owning a brand new Vette, ever.

Bingo! You nailed it, that's what I did - always wanted a new Vette, so when the tuition bills stopped, I bought one. Will I ever buy another new one? Probably not, but a nice used C7 is currently in my plans when I hit 70! (5 years, 3 months and 27 days, but who's counting?)
Thumbs Up

Well before I say which way I feel about this "new Vette", let me say 7 years ago I was not a fan of any vette and now I feel I cant go a day without looking at pics of them or sitting in one. I am a fan of them up thru the c3's but then not a fan of the c4's. The C5's and 6's i am starting to like more every day. Now as for this new C7, the charcoal or gray looks better to me then the red (sorry Joel). But even that color doesnt make me feel good about the new design. It looks like a "batmobile" to me just as the camaros do. The interior is to busy with stuff. I am sure that sitting in it might change my mind about the interior, but it just looks like to much happening in it. In all fairness, change is a good thing, but it usually takes a while until it grows on us old timers. As for now I think I'm going to go sit in my C3, lean back in the seat, close my eyes and thank the good lord for allowing me to own one of the best generations of corvettes on the earth!

He figured it would be worth way more than that............one day. Unfortunately not in his life time. He's got propably the largest collection of Vettes.

All purist hate change . When the sharks came out in 68 they were hated! People beat them into the ground, now they are rare because of that. I still do not like the C4, just me....
If you read why the changes were made it may help...maybe not. Camaro is selling like crazy, Vette not so much...sales continue to drop. Babyboomers are still the largest % of owners. The young people do not even consider a vette because it's a "Old Man's" car.
If they are to save the Vette and continue to invest engineering dollars in todays car market it needs to be styled for the Gen X&Y.
So lets see how it fair's....will it go the way of the T-bird.
Ford has great market in the Stang, Chevy has great market in the Camaro.
This has all been documented, and the debate will go on for years as always...because we all love our vette's!

I'll always have my C3's ....but I'd love to have one of these Gen 10 rides
Just sayin.....

Ebo, you are right on. I had a 64 fastback, a 65 396/425 vert, and a 66 427/450 vert. When the 68 came out I hated it. Everyone would ask me my thoughts, do to me being a freak on C2's, what I said was "too much extra weight all in the front, losing handling characteristics, too goodied up just to attract doctors and lawyers and they look like C2's that were left in the sun too long, and got distorted." I felt that Chevy was trying to turn a sports car into a personal luxury car for the  professional market. That's sort of what happened and the "waves" disappeared. A whole different breed of owners.
Then in 74 with the no bumper front and rear......I fell in love with the C3Heart
