How about the Poconos? We could organize something with Pocono raceway...and there's a ton to do up there including the new addition of gambling!!

I like the Hershey location..if possible repeat..if not I do like the Pocono idea..is there a state in which we are looking for or just anywhere in the east coast ..

Don't have a city or time of year, but I know someone (C2, C5, C6) mentioned South Carolina and it sounded like a good idea.  I've never been there and since we haven't had a gathering there, I thought it would be a good idea for something different

I wanted a Corvette my whole life, but I never dreamed of all the wonderful people I would meet because of it!

How about a more "southern" East location this time? We wanted to go to Connecticut but it was just too far and too expensive. What about Tennessee, especially around Gatlinburg (I think there was one there before we joined, but it's got great drives) or western North Carolina around the Smokies? What about Alabama or Mississippi?

I agree with hundred_honors, and it's a long trip from Texas to the Eastern seaboard also. And we're in northeast Texas--he's in San Antonio. It's often a hard day's drive just to get out of Texas!

The real issue is organization. The two gatherings I have attended, Hot Springs and Bend were well organized and great fun. It takes a lot of time and effort to organize one of these events. The members who organized and put on these two events did a great job. If you can pull off a gathering in the Poconos, that would be cool, a beautiful area. I know I can speak for Norsky when I say we would love to put a gathering togther here in the upper midwest. I know it is not our "turn" but....

There were numerous folks at the 2011 gathering that suggested the Carolinas.

Hmmm maybe I'm missing something, my first time to go to a gathering  it was UpperEast Coast, I know by checking the Forum that say's C3VR Gathering's (with lots of pictures)  that the group goes across the country say West (like Bend Oregon last year thats sort of close to Cali right?)

South Carolina (Charleston) sounds great! Also, Maggie Valley, NC was very pretty and close to the Smokies (lots of great drives!)

North Carolina....Lets go to Riks........

S. C. sounds great to me. Been thru the state but have never stayed there. Clint would be the man for area info. I would make that trip for sure. As for time of year, I think Clint should know that as well. Don't mean to put this on your shoulders Clint, but sounds like you're up for it.

So we are looking at something in the Carolina area..not bad..north C is about 9 hours from here..not bad..Riks sounds good..but are they up to it..how about one of the many Nascar racers on 95 in NC?? Hendrick motorsports or so??once again I will need a trailer..and truck..I got a year to round up the truck..the trailer is easy..Florida is nice also..so does this come down to a poll question..how does this get picked?? And E. Who you callin a yankee???

I would certainly vote for somewhere in the Carolinas in the spring & a Nascar related stop be great - even if it is on the way, like the CA stop this time around.  Frank & I will be there!

PLEASE, NO NASCAR!

Let's spend the time makin' great curvy drives in the 'Vettes, not trying to stay awake at a circle track until the cars make it back around where you can see them again.   (can you tell we're NHRA Drag Racing fans? Much better to see 6,000 horsepower make a 4 second run every couple of minutes--that shakes your entire body in the stands.)

We went to Gatlinburg last summer for vacation (sadly, not in one of the 'Vettes though) and made the drives across the Smokies into N. Carolina, didn't make it into S. Carolina though. That's a good location from Texas--spend one night on the road each way.

Spring is still cool around Orlando...if you think 80 is cool...and that temp happens as early as the March-April timeframe...its just that the humidity hasn't set in yet!!! Deep sea fishing is a possibility if you make it a long weekend. Of course there is Disney, Discovery Cove (where you swim with dolphins), and all the attractions for the kiddies, etc. For adult entertainment you've got the Epcot Center on Disney proper. Its an international setting with beers and foods from around the world. Spring break-pre-season for MLB is here as well with teams in Tampa, Viera, Sarasota, etc. On any given weekend you could even attend a car show...52 weekends out of the year...just look in the local area for Kelly's Cruise News. Like space stuff? The Kennedy Space Center (where I work) still has plenty to share in the way of museums, etc. So, just to name a few things to do while you're here is the intent.
