Adam Wartell said: I just reserved a Camaro SS rental! Now I REALLY can't wait until 5/16!!!

I have to pick it up in Richmond, VA. It is the only place I could find one for rent along my entire route from home to Charleston.  It's gonna cost me about $500.  I could have gotten a Corvette in Raleigh/Durham, but that cost $1500!

Are we there yet!?!?!

So, I just checked my reservation and they now have me listed as renting a Challenger RT.  I called them. Apparently they don't have the Camaro SS. So supposedly the manager is going to try to find the Camaro at another location and get back to me.

It's not looking good!  Looks like I may be in my Pathfinder the whole way after all. Cry
Sorry guess I should not have sent that note to them about rental abuse, and having one to many appletini's.

They must have removed the Camaro from their fleet.  I can't find any info on their site about the Camaro and when I click on "Get car details" on the Challenger RT listing, it shows details and a photo of the Camaro.

I think I'm mostly pissed that I was not notified of the change in my reservation. I only found out because I just happen to decide to look at my reservation today.  If I had shown up in Richmond on Wednesday to be told "oh, yeah, um, we don't have that car anymore," I'd be really steamed! The whole point of me renting the Camaro was because it was a Camaro!  I don't NEED a rental car. I can just take my Pathfinder all the way down with me. In fact, it would be easier (and cheaper) to do so.  So, if they can't get me the Camaro, the deal is off. I have no interest in the Challenger and so don't want to drop $500 to rent it (plus cost of parking for my Pathfinder for 5 days.)

Sounds like the best thing to do, Adam.  You don't really need to spend all that money on a rental or anything else.  It's no big thing and I'm sure not everyone will have a Vette or even a Chevy.  Don't worry, I'm sure you can catch a ride with one of the other guys to all the events.  See ya NEXT WEEK!!   Big smile  Party

@ Terry, sorry to hear your not able to come this year. Unhappy
I hope you get better soon my friend.

@Adam, Not being a big Mopar fan myself. I have to admit I test drove a Challenger R/T w/6 speed. I really like the way the car drove and handled. Even though it's not GM, it's still a nice ride. I wanted to buy one, but the dealer wouldn't budge a penny on the price. So I bought a Pontiac G8 GT instead. Dodge's loss.

We extended our vacation a bit. So we will be coming in from Gainsville, GA. Last minute decision to go visit some old friends. See ya'll soon.

Mark, don't have a clutch, just a torque converter! Picked up the car this evening and man is it ever different! It is awesome to drive! Power is smooth and instantanious! It's hard to believe it's the same vehicle! (OK, a lot of it isn't). Although it's kinda cool up here tonight , the temperature gauge never moved past 180, but I still had heat! Gotta take care of a couple minor issues and clean it up real good, but we'll be ready! Wait until you guys hear it rumble at idle! I'm stoked!
