IF YOU ARE PLANNING TO ATTEND EITHER THE MEET & GREET OR THE BBQ PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING POST.

The total cost of the meet and greet dinner will be $30.00 per person.  It breaks down like this- $25.00 for the meal per person and $5.00 per person for the banquet room fees, taxes, blah blah blah.  Since this was not clear to me until recently if joining this is to be hard or to much for someone then please contact me, RADARB8, and I will cover the extra for you, more important that you are in attendance.

The cost for the BBQ is going to be $12.00(ish) per person.

PLEASE BRING PAYMENT FOR BOTH EVENTS IN THE FORM OF CHECK, MONEY ORDER OR CASH.  Since we have to collect our own monies we  have no way to take credit or debit cards, I hope you all understand.

Okay the tough stuff is over now for the fun stuff:

Some thoughts to make it a great trip for everyone (and to help Mike and I look really good!).  There are a lot of things going on in the Bend area the time we are there, so the better we plan the better it will work out.
1) fill up before you go the bed if you are going with a group on the cruises.
2) be on time for the driver meetings and drive departure times.
3) pack plenty of film, media disc, camera cards, batteries, etc as there will be plenty of kodak moments and with all of this craziness going on you just never know what is going to happen.
4) I have a few surprises so be ready to well you know....
5) ask questions, Mike is a local guy who could get you answers.  Me, I'll just more than likely make the answer up and feed you a line of bull.
6) PACK PLENTY OF WATER WITH YOU ON ANY OF YOUR OUTINGS.
7) offer up any suggestions you may have
8) charge up all hand held radios the night before, we will choose a channel at the drivers meetings
9) exchange cell phone numbers with a few members so you can always be in touch with some one
10) Shilo will provide water, hoses and buckets but we will need to bring our own wash, wax, q-tips, towels, sham- wows, homeless guy to do the windows, you get the idea.

OH THERE IS ONE OTHER BIG SURPRISE THAT YOU'LL JUST HAVE TO BE THERE TO HEAR ABOUT.

Thank you to everyone who is attending!  It is because of all of you that the time and effort has been put forth by the planning team to make this an adventure worth every mile you have traveled.Norsky2010-07-07 15:20:54

Then again its the surprises that worry me......Big smile (knowing Larry!)

Yup that's a big 10-4, everytime we called Larry all we heard was What? What? What?  LOL  No seriously it was either too loud in the car

Just wandering if everyone knows that you can not put gas into your own car in OR. An attendent at the gas station has to fuel your car. So let him know to drain the gas in the nosel out before getting it close to your filler neck. I don't like gas running down the side of my car, do you?

As Chuck said in Oregon, you cannot take the nozzle & hose off the pump & fill your Vette. BUT I have found that  gas station attendants are very leary of spilling gas on the Vettes or scratching the paint.  So don't be surprised if they ask you to put the nozzle in yourself. If not,  tell them you would like to.  I have never been told no.  I always grab a few paper towels to put under the nozzle to catch the drips.

SEE Y'ALL REAL SOON!!!

John, not sure about that web link.Shocked I think, just pay the fee to enter crater lake for the day pass.

As far as letting the attendant fill your Vette, I always ask the attendent if I can fill my own car. There is an un-written law, that you need to ask 1st. They will most likely comply, since they are going gaga over your Vette Wink

Steve is correct on both counts.  (don't get too big of a head)!LOL  I checked with the Forest Service today.  The $10.00 pass is a day use pass that you would buy at the entrance.  They do have discounts for over 62 yrs & for the disabled, (disabled Veterans  too).  I was told you can take a letter, (standard form), from your local VA office, to the Forest Service in your area.  They should give you the form right there.  Give the local  U.S. Forest Service Office a call.  Hope that helps,
Mike
