We have confirmed with Mike Yager at Mid America Motorworks that they will host our 9th annual gathering during an ALL C3 event at their facility in Effingham, IL, May 19-21, 2011.

Mike always puts on a great event whether for Funfest or for a small group visit.  So this ALL C3 event will certainly be no exception!!  Details to come.

This could be a great opportunity for members in New York, New Jersey and Pennsylvania to meet up and caravan out.  Just have to make sure we stop at motels near places serving take out breakfasts.  Patricia in the Mornin' without her coffee ~ .  Hey Dave M yer really good at setting up meeting places and all to trip together.  Maybe Mark will have another vette or two ready for his daughter and Shirley!!  A family caravan.  Talk about a C-3 enthusiast.  He's the best.

We'll work it all out when the time comes. I have to work in a visit with my son and his family in Columbus, OH. Can't drive passed them without seeing them. I'll either go early and spend time there or stay there on the way home for a few days, we'll see. This should be a fun one.

UPDATED INFORMATION 3/5/10

Okay we have the deal finalized for the 2011 Gathering event host hotel. It will be the Days Inn (exit 160). We have 15 rooms reserved for this event presently. Room rates will be $59.00 a night.

Reservations can be made starting 4/24/10 for the 2011 Gathering.

Available rooms will be single / double queen or single king.

IN ADDITION........

For 2010 Funfest We have acquired a block of 30 rooms for 3 days. Rates will be $79.00 a night (3 night minimum. If you chose to stay for Friday and Saturday rates will be $114.00. Included in this price are the evening dinner meals which will be catered in for our group on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday nights.

In order to receive these prices we need to fill these rooms. I encourage you to arrive on Thursday as there will be activities planned for our group to be annouced later. Likewise I would like to ask that you make your reservations now if possible.

There are several of us working to make these events and this hotel a great time for the C3VR folks and our fellow 68 - 82 Stingray brother and sisters.

Reservations for Funfest rooms is now open.

Hmmmmmnnnnn....... I guess this wasn't quite plain enuff....... No matter since y'all are excited I sent the district manager an email asking him when reservations can be made. Once he responds I will post it up.

I am guessing that since the date is so far out that some of the desk help has no knowledge of the plans as of yet.

Soooo.... please be patient and allow me to get a registration date for you.

I received a response today from the hotel:

"Unfortunately our reservation system will only allow reservations to be taken 56 weeks in advance. In the mean time you could collect room types and quantities. ie: smoking and non-smoking singles, smoking and non-smoking doubles. This information can then be provided to Sheila in May. Members can then call in at their convenience to claim and guarantee a room from the block.

Hope this helps."

This is what I thought would be the case. Soooooo, in light of this I will post a thread closer to May in order to accommodate this request.


But, remember you can still make those FUNFEST reservations now for next year and receive a great 3 day discount and stay in the company of other C3VR members.

Dan,

As we get closer to the actual date more details will be annouced. In working with the hotel owner some plans have been discussed to have the dinners catered to the hotel like what is being planned for next years Funfest. (Free of charge... dependant on participation.)

We are fortunite that the hotels owner has several restraunts as well. As an example he had a barbeque for the Corvette hotel patrons at this years Funfest.

I have been working out the details for some of the hotels gathering event agenda. These are merely preliminary details due to the events 2011 date.

Likewise some of this will evolve around Mid America and the fun things that Chief Cheerleader Mike Yager and his crew has in store for us.

I'll send you a Pm or email and get you involved if you want to bite off a chunk to help out. Thanks for making the offer!!!!!!
