Well I guess I don't understand why a big sponsor is needed other than organizing the event..I guess it does make that part easier..if it does pose to much work for the few to set things up then possibly a group of us get together and take tasks per day of the schedule and organize each one..since the hotel is the homebase then where the event goes each day wouldn't complicate or conflict with the other days..really though I wouldn't go to site see..the drive would be enough for me..but parking on a aircraft carrier would change my mind real fast!! If a sponsor is chosen then maybe possible to do a day with them then off on our own would be ok also..I would love to visit Bairs in 2015..but not for the whole time..events as small as Corvettes for Chip don't give me enough time to spend with the local amigos I have here..let alone all the others that would be at the annual event..I love the cars but the person behind the wheel would be the reason why I would go.

You got it, Rich! It's the company as much as the event! That's why I wouldn't prefer to have the Gathrings as part of a larger event. I would like to spend as much time with friends WITHIN the club at a Gathering. Just my .02.

Gil, I never said that only C3VR members should be invited! It would be a good way to attract members. But the C3 fest in Effingham (at MAM) was supposed to be open to all C3s but there were only a few that were not already members (and some of them joined!) that attended. What I said is that I wouldn't want the the C3 Gathering to be part of a larger show or venue such as MAM's funfest or Corvettes at Carlisle because there would be too many things going on to allow any real time to spend with the group. The Gathering at MAM last spring was a blast and a highlight of my life, but even with all that I really didn't feel like I got to spend time with all the people I wanted to (maybe that's what they wanted!  ). There is a time and place for everything. We love everybody and we have members who no longer have their C3 or have never had one! And ebo is just jealous that we were the only ones allowed to park in front of Mike Yager's house! (to tell you the truth, the only reason we were allowed to park there is because my wife has MS and would have had trouble getting up the big hill to the house!) I hope my point is clearer now!

Short and sweet !!  I agree with Joel, Dave and Jim.  I think that Mike Yager will continue to have a C-3 fest.  I will see him this weekend in Chicago and see how he feels about it.  I seem to recall the a C-3 feste is on the MAM Calendar for 2012 !
