If you've been to a gathering before you know that we often use two-way radios (FRS) to communicate during our group drives.  They are easier than cell-phones because we don't have to know everyone's phone number or dial a phone, we just coordinate which channel everyone will be on then just push to talk.

If you are going to attend this gathering and don't already have a two-way radio, here is one from amazon that seems to get pretty high reviews and is not very costly.

Costs around $45 with free shipping.

You may want to consider getting this to bring with you. (or ones you already own).
Don't forget to charge them!

Yeah...or buy a box of batteries. The two-ways I have have rechargeable batts, but they only hold up for about an hour, even if I don't actually talk on them....and this was when they were brand NEW. I finally just bought some regular batteries for them...they seem to last much longer. Thumbs Up

I can second that the batteries that come with these don't last long.  Suggest you get one with the attachment to plug-in to your cigarette lighter.  Like this one

I bought a set from Sam's Club to use with my Mini Cooper Club and the battery ran out before I got to the meetup spot.

Do they come with a headset so you can actually hear the message?
Between the wind noise and the exhaust, I never hear the garbled message.Angry

LOL
Both of the sets I have have provisions for headset/earbud use. The newest set I have is also blue-toof enabled, and can be set for VOX(voice activated talk).
