I am lifting the body off of the frame and it has lifted some but the frame also has come off the jacks on the side I am lifting. I have all the mounts on that side out and all the stuff to disconnect, disconnected. I have two three foot 4x4 to lift one side at a time. Where can I put a bar to try and pry body and frame apart, Help and thanks, ZAPPAREX

Do you have all of the mount bolts out on BOTH sides? The body will not lift up very much at all unless you do. The mounts can stick to the frame sometimes, but you said it moved up some....
The only really safe place to "pry" is going to be at the mounts themselves...try to pry the mounts away from the frame, don't try to pry the mounts away from the body. If the bolts are all the way out, you might be able to get a wide chisel between the mount and frame to be sure the mount is free. Just start at one end, and work your way to the other end, one mount at a time.
You may also need to disconnect the steering column from the rag-joint, if you haven't already.

I have removed rag-joint, inside steering column from firewall, 2 bolts holding front extender brackets to front bumper and frame, but left one bolt loose on frame , front bumper, rear bumper mount bolts, door sills, rocker panels, splash shield, clutch cable, antenna strap and strap to drivers #1 body mount. I heard it might be the seat belt cables to frame. I have all the mounts out but not enough room to clean up #2 and #3 or #6 and #7 mount area and that is passenger side. The drivers side I have a broken top of the bolt that I am going to heat with a torch and hopefuly be able to turn it out with vise grips. If you think of anything I have missed it would help, Thank ZAPPAREX

Hello again , I think I found the problem a cable under the driveshaft attached to body and cross member. My problem now is the broken #3 driver side body mount, I thought I was making progress by heating with a torch and turn out with visegrips , but the caged nut has let go. I am thinking I will have to grind the weld on cage and get the nut out clean it out and weld back in. If anybody has better advise, I could use some Thanks ZAPPAREX

Hello I'm back, I have all the mount out but two for alignment on passenger side. The broken #3 mount I had to take the frame cage nut off the frame and tried to drill and tap it out and the tap broke but got lucky that a garage near by got it out and tapped it for $20.00. Now the # 4 on both sides needs rebuilding but I bought some steel to rebuild new support for around the #4 fiberglass wear the bolt comes through to the cage nut.The drivers side did not have a metal support and the fiberglass needs repair. The rear urethane bumper had a couple of cracks but when I lifted the car it fell apart. I had bought a fiberglass one awhile ago that was never mounted, that was bought at Ecklers 20 years ago. I found alot of surprises but it is coming along and for the body not lifting off of frame, I missed the passenger sill plate. Tomorrow the plan is to fix the fiberglass on the #4 mount area, mount my creation of the #4 support mounts and put the body mounts on, cross my fingers, Thanks for listening and your suggestion ZAPPAREX
