Has anyone every wanted to convert their electric windows to manual crank up. My window motors are getting old and with the new weather strip they work to raise the window glass. In fact I have to open the doors to fully raise the windows. I would just as soon have manual windows to eliminate this problem and avert any potential future problems.

I was kinda thinking the same thing...
Changing from power to manual will require manual regulators, the cranks, and pokin holes in the door panels. And a lot of adjustment time, which is a pita, anyway.
It may be possible that the regulator spring on your regulators is broken. That makes it tough for motor to raise/lower the glass, especially with new w-stripping. You may need to do some adjusting to get the glass to go up/down smoothly. Someone, somewhere, may have adjusted the glass to fit worn out w-strip in the past, and now the glass just needs to be re-adjusted. It's a pain to do(for me, anyway), but that may help the electric motors work a little better...

Ain't know way I would consider going manual in an 82 Collector Edition. It wasn't an option and it should remain not an option.

Try lubing the tracks with something like Dry Slick or clear silicone grease. If that doesn't work out then maybe some track adjustments or rebuilding of the motors are in order.

Mine were like yours in my 76 after new stripping was installed too. After a couple of hours babysitting them with silicone grease and the door panels off. They work pretty well with no motor expense.

Take your time and just watch them and you will be able to see what the next step will need to be.

Our window motor expert says the motors pretty much work or don't.  He helped me with mine when they were drawing way too much current.  All we did was wash everything with carb cleaner, then really soak it all with spray white lube.  I would try that first.

Thanks to everyone about the power window help. I've had my door panels off several times to adjust and lube but, I've never cleaned or worked on the motors. I guess that is next. If the motors are brushed maybe they need cleaning or replacing. I'm glad I'm not alone in window work after new weather stripping. I thought perhaps my stripping was incorrectly replaced. I will try all the other suggestions before I make holes in the door panels.

I have changed to roll up windows on several and I am happy I did.  However, I did not change any that did not come with roll up windows.  I have found that problems with the ground causing a poor connection can lead to electric windows to move slowly.

I've had my driver side door panels off several times to tighten the mirrors and silence rattles, I guess I don't know what a regulator looks like. I've had the glass all the way out just to get at the mirror and greased and adjusted everything. Also, my electric door locks look to be flimsy mechanical linkage rods that have long ago had the wiring disconnected. The entire system looks poorly designed. Just my thoughts! I'll look for the regulator again, check my ground wires, and anything else I get tips on.
Thanks,
terntes
