The paint is mostly worn off of my crossed flags nose emblem. Has anyone tried repainting them with any success? I have a couple of NOS fuel door emblems if anyone has one to trade.
I had the address of a guy who repainted them. but lost it when I had work done on my computer. Unhappy  I think I gave his info to someone here in the past, if anyone remembers. longhorn2942010-01-22 14:07:18

Hi Dwain, about the nose emblem. Go to the shop heading in C3vr then
auctions then click on body then click emblems or use find C3 parts
under features. You will find what you are looking for. Have several
listed. Here are two NOS Ebay #350306244148 now $47.99 and
Ebay item #320476787326 now at $15.00. I am sure you will find
one you like. I buy a lot of NOS vette parts here on Ebay. Hope this
helps you.          Butch

Thanks Butch.... I'll keep my eye on one of them. I have two OEM's that the paint is worn off. Be nice to be able to repaint them. Maybe nail polish and a steady hand? Couple of stiff ones should steady the hand...LOL

If you go to a hobby store and get some "Testors" model car paint (its enamel) you can do them your self. Take a tooth pick dip it in the paint and touch it to the part, the paint will flow, you can easily control the paint by how much you have on the point of the toothpick. Once the paint is dry to the touch you can use a new tooth pick to scrap any spot that may have some paint where you don't want it.

If your to scared send em off to me I'll do them for you.

I've painted several emblems with model car paints, and they've come out pretty well. A little patience, and a small utensil such as the toothpick will work. I used a small paintbrush. Any paint that gets on the shiny stuff can be scraped off with a new razorbalde, or an exacto knife...

Skeert? I aint skeert! Well, maybe a little bit. But, I guess they couldn't get much worse than they are now.LOL   Thanks guys, good idea about the toothpick. I'll see what I can do with 'em. Hope nobody sees me in Wal-Mart checking out the nail polish. LOL Prices sure have gone up since the last time I bought one, about $15-$20.

LOL Actually, yes, I do buy an occasional bottle. I keep one in my shop to seal welch plugs when I replace them on mower carbs....So there! Big smile  Gone to Michaels, then on to Walmart for some Gothic black, white and hopefully the right shade of red.
Second thought.. Which do y'all think would be more durable, model paint or nail polish, or are they about the same?

I know the Testors is enamel so it will not eat into the plastic, I think nail polish may be an acrylic. I know my "Women" use acetone to remove it. Read the bottle.

Now if your lookin for that touch of "Bling" the nail polish has glitter.......just a thoughtBig smile
