I have my new door springs and my door spring tool, but this thing had no door springs at all... so does anyone have a pic or a link to show me how these go in? I can't find anything in my books to show me how they go in.
Thanks

Lonnie I have the instructions I can send ya somewhere in me g-rage..... Basically my best advice is hold yer mouth jest rite and set aside some time. I think this one is one of the Generals best sorry butt tricks ta see if future Vette owner really have "passion".

This is where the old adage "Patience is a virtue" comes true.

I did mine and it takes a while to finagle them into postition. It reminded me of the 2 bent nails trick I had as a kid.

If somebody can send it to ya via e-mail that would be great. If not send me a PM with yer address and I will send ya a copy.

That should do it, thanks Bob...!

If only they pop rite in as illustrated. Mine didn't, it takes quite lil bit to work the screwdriver and hold the sping in place. It is kinda a tight space to work but they do go in.Tuxblacray2009-09-22 07:11:31

A word of warning if you havent already started installing the springs.  Use something to mask the front edge of the OUTSIDE of your door near where the spring will be installed.  If the spring pops free of the tool before you have it in place , it is going to leave a reminder that will be there forever on the paint of your door.  You dont have to ask me how I know this...Cry

I'll see what I can do when I get home tonight....hopefully they'll snap right in with all my paint left intact.
Thanks Guy's.

This sounds crazy but here goes.  If the springs are worn out, so are the door bushings and the pins.  Therefore, take the doors off and replace the springs first, then put the bushings and pins in before you put the doors back on.  Only my opinion.  The springs go in very easily with the doors off and a complete set of bushings and pins is not that much.
