does anyone have a good emblem template for the stingray emblems on a 69?

which page is the diagram in the assembly manual for it as well (I cant seem to find it but could be turning right past it or missing that page)

also..  I have a template for drilling the holes for the passenger side mirror.  are the mirrors for each side symmetrical?  ie, if I flip the template over for the drivers door will it be correct (some
cars in the 60's were not symmetrical)

again I cant find this in the assembly manual either, so if you know the page, please let me know.

The holes for the drivers side mirror should already be there with attached nuts on the backside.

Ben - my '69 AIM is on loan to a friend right now but I found this in my '70 AIM. It was in the body section right around front bumper and hood installation. Perhaps it will help.

Haven't found anything on mirror location but I'll keep looking. I do know the mirror location was moved back sometime in early '68 to it's current location. From everything I've ever seen, I believe they were symmetrical L to R.

I also have a very simple, wax paper template I used to install the side emblems on a '69 several years ago. One fender was replaced and I transferred the pattern from the other side to drill the holes. It worked well and I can send it to you if you wish, let me know.

Good luck.

One of the first things I did for my '69 Coupe was to install a right-hand mirror. Although I triple checked the location of the holes according to the template I received with the mirror before I drilled, I have not been able to adjust it sufficiently to use it.  I wanted it because I can't see past the right hand pillar too well.  I believe I will enlarge the holes on the mounting bracket to it can be moved slightly rather than filling and redrilling the holes in the fiberglass.

My point being you may want to tape all the parts together before you drill, regardless of where you get your template.

Regarding the R hand mirror location, you will not find in the assembly manual as it was not a factory option. Regards, Mike

I bought a inexpensive mirror from Mid America if memory serves.  It has a template with the mirror that worked very well.  Maybe you can get one from them.

I got to drive it from the body shop to the tire shop and back. Appx five miles.

1 does not like 28 degree weather. Ran like crap until it warmed up. Though maybe just cabin fever from sitting so long.
2 steering is very quick. Turn signal doesn't cancel unless you make a sharp turn.
3 engine started smoking because of finger tightened valve cover bolt on passenger side :-)
4 I couldn't figure out how to get the wheels to not spin in first. Even sitting in front of a cop at a light I couldn't keep the wheels quiet.
5 loses rolling traction effortlessly through 3rd (i.e. Punch gas while coasting in 3rd), never got going fast enough to try 4th.
6 installing RetroSound stereo was a complete waste of money (pipes too loud).

I'm just glad the guy with the blue lights had something better to do.  It would have sucked to get a ticket the first day.
