You can certainly TRY that trick, but you may not like the results...
Hoods on these cars do have a tendency to stick up a little high on the rear corners. They also seem to dip down a little in the middle, on the outer edges, where they go above the tire area. It's the nature of the beast....fiberglass tends to warp over time, plus, these things were never "perfect" to begin with.
Check to see if your car has the hood "bumpers" on the fender ledge, about center from front to rear. Some cars had them from the factory, some didn't. These "bumpers" are there to try to keep the hood level with the fender line, and it also helps to lower the rear corners some. I have a pic somewhere....lemmie look and see if I can find it....might take a while, unless someone else has one handy....
Well...I couldn't find what I was looking for, but I did find this, to help explain the rubber blocks....
