I have a 1975 Vette and will be having it painted next spring. The mirrors on the car now are the wrong ones. I have a set of correct one's that I'll install/locate before the paint job. Can someone tell me exactly where on the doors the mirrors belong. Thanks, Darrell

Well...mine are on the doors, but you can put them anywhere ya want.....

(Sorry...but SOMEone had to say it.....LOL)

There should be a plate on the door to show the location of the two screw holes. If they have been filled in from the outside, you should still be able to see them from the inside of the door. At least on the driver side, anyway. The passenger side used riv-nuts, so no plate there, but the holes should still be there, IF it had a pass side mirror before. Thumbs Up

When I bought my passenger side mirror it came with a template to get the location correct. Worked good. It mounts with well nuts like the luggage racks.

For what its worth, I just bought replacement mirrors for my '77 and had the hardest time getting the set screw to catch the threaded portion of the mirror. My soultion: I added a shim (1/32" rubber-fiber gasket material) between the mounting bracket and the black  gasketthat came with the replacement mirrors. Set screw caught the threads on the first try.

The Chinese made mirrors absolutely suck.
