I am neary done with steeroids and a whole bunch of little stuff but I was looking at getting a Lambo door kit. I think we discussed them before, But I dont know if anyone has seen them in action? I would like to know what type of opening clearence I could expect. Also how difficult is it to remove the front fenders as from what I understand in order to do the install that must be removed.

Thanks,
Will

Make sure your doors and doorjams are in tip top condition. This adds a lot of new stress to the doors. Saw a mid 70s C3 tear or of the jam - it was rusted from the inside of the birdcage. If you haven't yet, remove the kick panels and look in there. That should be a good indicator.

I was looking at this kit  http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/CORVETTE-C3-VERTICAL-DOORS-KIT-LAMBO-DOORS-68-to-82_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ42611QQihZ016QQitemZ260411752743QQrdZ1QQsspagenameZWDVW

A direct bolt on.

I did talk to one installer last year who used a universal kit but I was not too impressed with his install knowledge. The above kit looks complete and solid.

Not my cup o' tea, but looks like it could be a good conversation piece.  I wonder how easy it is to get in or out of....  not a whole lot of leg room between open door and seat, also, looks like ya might bump yer head if yer not careful.  Ouch

That is my cheif concern. I have also been told that some kits can open both ways. I would like to find someone who has done it nearby and see what the egress looks like. I have contacted they ebay seller and he told me that the fenders do not have to come off to do the install of his kit. I will keep poosted on progress ifn I do go with it.

I know some people dont like the look. I am one that prefers ANYTHING BUT STOCK! I like to make it my own and its fun to do the work myself. Its just that its gettin 'spensive.

Make the car the way you want it - that's all that counts.  I think things like that look great when the workmanship is good.  I think it could be very cool on your car.

Brother Will, I was looking at that e-bay kit not to long ago. It will draw some looks for sure. I think it's a cool look.

I can see where you might want to see one up close, and check on ease of getting in and out. Keep us informed for sure.
