I am in the process of assembling my rear impact bar and see in the book there was an upper support in the middle.  Was this possibly a change mid year as I do not have anything like it in my shop and it doesn't show in any pictures.  Also does anyone know where i can get new rubber replacements for the outer corners of the impact bar. the bolts broke off when i removed them.

Look on the "SHOP" portion of our site.  Many of them on E-bay.

What "book" are we looking at?
Not sure if the '75s had it or not, but here's what it is referring to. The support is riveted to the impact bar...if you had taken it off, you would have remembered either drilling the rivet out, or whacking it off with a chisel. EARLY '75s may not have had this support. Wink

As far as the rubber end pieces, ebay is prolly your best bet for those. Not sure anyone is reproducing them.

YUP!  The 75's have it. I have living proof, well doubt if it's still breathing from 1975, BUT it is still on the bumper. Mine has two narrow strips of foam of some sort to soften the contact with the cover.

Sorry I didn't see this earlier today. Fresh off the rear bumper of a '75 last summer. All in great shape, I think I even have the center rubber strips in a box somewhere. PM me with what your looking for. Special C3VR Holiday pricing now through Xmas !!

the two rubber strips on the outside pieces show above are what i need.  the rubber is formed around a metal strip and when i removed them the bolts broke off. and i looked at my pictures again and i did not have that center support on my impact bar, so now i'm confused because i pretty sure its never been off before

Let me see if I can remove the rubber corners without breaking the same bolts you did. Check back on Friday, wifey won't be too happy if I'm out in the garage turning wrenches on T-Day.

So I was able to sneak outside while the turkey ws cooking and take a couple shots for you. The end rubber pieces came right off, no problem. Nuts have some surface crust but the threads are in good condition.

Found another set on Fleabay last night and they were $35 plus shipping, so I can do $25 plus shipping to the great white north. PM me your address if your interested and I can get in the mail tomorrow or Sat at the latest.

I also took a shot of the center support in question, and thught this may help.

If I remember correctly, this part was bolted to the top and backside of the reinforcement tube with three self threading bolts and flat washers. See the ghosts of the flat washers inside the tube (the twin is on the other end) and the one at the bottom center.

I would take a look at you reinforcement tube, if these holes do not exist, this part was never installed on your car. If the holes exist and there is evidence of a self cutting thread, then I'd say the part was there and removed at some point.

Take a look and if you want this part I can put it in the same box with the rubber strips, $10 extra and I'll see if I can find the rubber strips that were stuck to the front angled face.

Good Luck !!

The triangular metal center critter is attached by one sheet metal bolt on the rear downward flange in the center. That large sheet metal bolt  heads rearward toward the CORVETTE emblem on the outside of the bumper cover.

The other two spots are affixed to the bumper proper with machine bolts inserted from below and captive from the topside just inside the triangular bracket critter...
That triangular bracket is attched before the bumper cover is installed..Note also that there's two small holes that are for the pop in plastic clips that hold the wiring harness for the taillite assemblies..Jim

That is awesome they are exactly what i need. I looked at my bar and i know the top hole is there but can't remember what was on the bottom but i do not believe i seen any signs of anything being attached.  Send me the center piece and i will add it to the bar sounds like it would be a good thing to have.  How do you want me to pay you for this stuff? You can let me know what the shipping is and i can send it all at once I just happen to have some american currency left from last gathering.  My address would be Cindy Teale, Box 2354 Tisdale, Saskatchewan Canada S0E 1T0
