I've got a 1972 that I'm needing to replace the soft top.  I've done a complete frame off restoration and pretty handy with a wrench and instructions.  Would love any comments on where to go for articles on how to replace and any other comments on what to do and what not to do.  I've got a matching numbers corvette that I've kept pretty original in my restoration and wondering on what soft top replacement to buy.  Thanks David

I bought an Al Knoch kit directly from them.  I was going to try the install myself but ran out of time.  Ended up having an auto upolstery shop put it on for me.

There should be a thread or two in this forum on convertible tops.  Scroll through or do a search.

Let's see some pictures...!!!

I too purchased my Top for my 64 and form my 72 from Al Knock... And I do 90 percent of my own wrenching always have and always will...

BUT in all honestly I attempted to get the top on my 72 on and frankly gave up....and had a pro do both cars....

Not hard to install...BUT it is darn hard to get it "completely" wrinkle free and nice and stretched tight ...to look as good I wanted it to look....

I'd spend the $300-400 (from memory) and let a pro do the job RIGHT !!!!

after messing with cars now all my adult life I finally cam to tyhe realization that I do no paint cars and I;ll never put a Convertible top on a car I want to look extra sharp...

Hey Dave..would really like to see this car..I have looked into the top thing and found they can be ordered with a date code..it costs a little bit more..but I would do that with the numbers car..the al knoch top is the way to go..I haven't put one on yet but it is a patience eater..they are not all that much..I may try it but I don't know your skills..

I agree! Certain jobs are best left to the Pros! Paint and convertable tops are two of the big ones!
