I'm finishing up my interior and would like to refurb my window tracks etc. My moters work fine but everything just sounds a little scratchy. I have seen kits in some of my catalogs for doing this. Has anyone done this lately that may have some pointers. My windows are original and cleaned up pretty well but the operation is just kinda sloppy.
Thanks Lonnie

It is rare to have more than one or two bad rollers.  I would take it apart, order the pieces you need, grease it all with white lube, and be done.

I'm wid Larry...you really need to get the rollers out, and see how many(if any) need replacing. Then clean the tracks really well, and grease liberally.
Make sure, if you remove any of the bolts for the adjustments that you mark the positions first!!! You can do this with an awl, or a small pocket screwdriver, or anything that is sharp and pointed. Go around the bolts to scratch an outline, so you'll know where to put it all back once you get done...it ain't NO fun trying to adjust a window from scratch....btdt...don't like it...

about 6 weeks ago I did both door glasses.I bought one rebuild kit,and used the better rollers, etc. along with the new kit and repaired both glasses.Larry said it correctly, not all the parts were worn out, only a few. The butt opain was getting the whole motor/track assemblies in and out.I took digitals as I removed the whole assemblies.I also glass beaded some of the rusty and cruddy parts and re assembled all with white grease. Both windows WERE sluggish, but no longer are. I'll have to adjust glass when I re hang the doors,to see how they will ride against the new rubber seals, etc. 1/2 day for the whole job with the son that showed up
