Some really good points...however, I feel you put extra stress on the frame/body if the car is put on jack stands for an extended period of time. I prefer to just leave it on the wheels. Maybe over-inflating the tires is a good trick. Haven't thought of that.

As the article said, seems like these days the new tires don't succumb to the flat spot problems - at least the ones I have don't. I usually put my 76 away from Thanksgiving until mid-April. After 5 months of not moving I never experienced flat spotting. Didn't even do the "over inflate" trick. The car is parked indoors and covered, but that's about it.
