This IS an oldie but a gudie!!

I've still got the same duster, and it still werks great....it's almost black now! At least it no longer leaves any funky stuff on the surface like they do when new. I also go over the car afterwards with Meguier's Spray Detailer...shure beats WASHIN the car!!

btw....it's also nice to know the newer members are taking advantage of the archives! We should ALL do that every now and them...it is FUN to go back and look at some of the older threads...Adams' Apple2008-11-28 11:12:29

I use one for my car, I also have the small one for the interior and that works great.

OK here is my 2 cents. I bought my first California Duster about 3 years ago when I had my truck. When you get it the instruction are to leave it out on some newspaper for about 24 hours to let it air out and kinda cure to cut down on possible streaks from the wax. It is very true that the more you use it the better it works, don't wash it. I gave that first one away with my truck and the first thing I bought when I got my Vette was a new California Duster. The only problem I have ever had is a little streaking on my Black paint after using it when the car has been out in the hot sun for awhile at a cruise-in. Those of you that don't have one can get the best price on one at Wal-Mart or Target. If you pay more than $19.95 you are paying too much.

So is there only one kind of California Duster?

I mean if wal mart sells them those were made in china.

Are there better ones? Or only one?

I would like to get one thats for sure.

Ive got one that I use regularly and it saves me  a lot of washing.  With a black car, it doesnt sit long at all until dust starts to show.  Im sure there are imitations out there and they will probably work OK as well but mine says "Original California car duster" on it.  If something happened to this one, Id be buying another one the same day. Got mine at Pep Boys

Chip is right...the ones that state "The Original California Car Duster" are the real ones. The others are cheap-o imitations that prolly don't work as well, if at all.
There was some hub-bub a while back concerning the wooden handle VS the plastic handle Dusters. Mine has a plastic handle...some were saying the ones with the plastic handles were fakes. In reality, they are still "The Original California Car Duster" units...just a "new-improved" version. So, don't go by that entirely. Check to see it says "The Original California Car Duster" on the sleeve/cover, and on the handle itself.

The first time I used mine, it left crap all over my car! Hey...I'm a guy....I don need no steenkin 'structions!
That's when someone told me to lay it out on newspapers for a few days...that gets most of the excess wax stuff out of it. After that, it just keeps getting better and better...

Well maybe some of you need a new duster. Or, maybe some of you want to buy your 1st duster. Either way here is your chance to get a duster and some other stuff.

The Paddock isn't to far from my home and has a great assortment of muscle car stuff. They have quite a few C3 parts as well.

So that is my "plug" er story and I'm stickin to it.
