Make sure you don't wash and place anything on a fresh paint for at least 30 to 45 days.   Paint needs to cure.

Then wash, prep, polish and wax.   Star

Ok polish/wax.Thats a long time until I can wash it.That means I can't drive it because I just might get bird droppings or sap ect. What is the prep part?

Assuming the work was done by a reputable body shop and they've already wetsanded and buffed the finish, I would just wash with a good car wash soap and then clay the surface to be polished.

Yeah.the fade was wetsanded and finessit(sp) so it's bare paint right now.I did clay bar my hood last night except for the fade..Thanks for all the help. This bodyshop I go to does everything. Ins. work/custom paint. Everything he does comes with a lifetime "garontee"He had to redo my tail light coves because I spotted a flaw that only the owner of the car would have found.I like that brown paint code he usess because it's a small metallic.zgator2007-06-29 08:37:02

After the claybar prep you can either machine polish the hood to eliminate any haze, fine scratches, or "holograms" that remain after the body shop buff, or if you're satisfied just go ahead apply your preferred polish.  A layer of carnauba wax over a synthetic polish will give the color some extra "pop".
