Thanks for the advice. Stalling the engine with oil seems rather odd as one would think it would really mess up the spark plugs.  I had not thought of moth balls to keep rodents out of the exhaust system. I have used Bounce sheets for years as a rodent repellant in my pop up camper.

They sell  fogging oil in a spray can. I spray it in my boat carb when I winterize it. Blows out in the spring and she runs fine.

I liked the part about mice in the exhaust. Matter of fact, Just a couple of weeks ago, I fired up My Goldwing, and a bunch of stuff came flying out the exhaust. WHen I was done with my ride that day, I put the bike back, and set a trap at the kickstand. I never did catch a mouse. I guess I made'm mad and he left, or, he was smoked .

There are several threads around that discuss long term storage and have lots of good info in them.

For several years I stored "The Toy" in an unheated, concrete/dirt floor storage facility and I always laid down a sheet of plastic as a vapor barrier under the car.  I still lay down a sheet of plastic on the concrete floor out of habit.

I also pump up the tires to 50 PSI to help reduce any flat spotting.  Topping the brake fluid is a good thing to do also.  Most C3 brakes will lose some brake fluid over the storage period.  Then in the spring I bleed the system to make sure I have clean fluid and a solid pedal.

Hadn't thought about the carb fogging before but that makes sense if you're not going to be running it at all.  Now that all the toys winter at "The Ranch" they get run at least once a month so I don't worry about that.

Enjoy the rest of the driving season...!!!

Good advice. I also have a piece of plywood  14 x 20 under each tire. This will keep the concrete temp insulated from the rubber. Thumbs%20Up

Hi neighbor!

I've used this car bag for 16 years now.  Keeps the car and motorcycle sealed and the mice on the outside looking in!  Unfortunitely these are not available anymore.

I have seen these car bags at Carlisle. Even have a small fan to keep the bag pressurized. That is the ultimate in protection.

I just got my new Ecklers C3 fall/ winter catalog.  Page 5 shows a Car Capsule.  It looks to be a car bag that has a fan and is inflated.  $400 bucks.

The firm I purchased the bag from, quit making them a while ago.  The demand must not have been enough to support it. I think I spent $125.00 for it.   I did buy a large canister of "crystals" in a vented tin shell you heat up before sealing the bag that sucks up any moisture.

The "crystals" you referred to sound interesting. Can you get ' em at any old auto parts store?
I have 4 canvass bags with unknown contents that I bought from Mid America. They're supposed to absorb moisture. I leave them inside the Vette when it's not in use.
Let me know about the crystals when you can.
