Does anyone have a good diagram of how the vacuum hoses should be connected for a 1972?  I don't think my are working correctly.  When I have the control on Vent, my right side kick panel vent closes.  It's open in all the other settings.  Doesn't this allow outside air to come in?  Shouldn't this be closed in all operations exept for when I have the control setting on Vent?  Thank you, David

No, as I understand it, the right side kick panel door is the recirculate door and should be open in the Max a/c position so the fan can recycle interior air.

edit...To add to this, there is a door in the plenum just below the right  wiper arm pivot mount that should be open for all operations except MAX.  This allows outside air into the system.  In MAX, it closes and the door behind the right kickpanel opens, to recycle the cooler interior air.

The A/C cars work differently than the non-A/C cars. Gary says it correctly...the air door on the pass side kick panel should open on Max A/C only, to recirculate the cooler inside air, and be closed any other time. The vent system on the A/C cars uses a different path from the cowl area. Thumbs Up

I have a PDF file on the '72 Chev HVAC systems, including Corvette, with wiring and vacuum diagrams, if you need it. It explains how the system is s'posed to work, and gives some troubleshooting info, too. It is a large file(for me) at over 3 mb, so if anyone wants a copy, make sure yer e-mail will accept it. Thumbs Up
I also have access to the same info other year models.

Gotcha.  Somebody tee you off or just didn't make the meetings anymore and couldn't justify the dues?

Just curious.
