I am going to be adding electric fans to the 72 once the engine is broken in and running. Would like to see what the guys running these have done electrically for hookup. I have been given a dual flex-a-lite fan set up but have to get the relays and controller. Also what amp alt. am I going to need. Not sure what mine has but I hope to check it out this weekend. And lastly, once you remove your fan is there a nose piece for on the water pump or have you just used the nuts or bolts to hold  the pulley in place.
Oh, Almost forgot. I plan to make all the brackets and fit it to the radiator before I put the radiator into the car. I have a new Dewitts radiator waiting still in the box.
Thanks
Rodney

I have not got it install yet but I bought the Dewitts rad with the BeCool fan setup.
Hope to get it in as soon as I get a couple of days off work with nicer weather.

I am running the dual Flex-O-Lite fans. I am using 2 Spal relays with 30 amp fuses and I bumped up to a 95 AMP alternator from a 91 GMC Full size pick up - all the same bolts and connections. I also run and electric fuel pump, so with the fans, pump and lights on at night, I wanted to make sure there was plenty of juice...

I am also running around 100 amp alt. I have a fuse/relay block mounted to the firewall left side of wiper motor. I run the power wires from the alternator bat post to the relay block. The fuses are 30 amp. Here are a couple of pic's showing the relay block

Yea, no motors. Whats up with that. That would sure save me a ton of time and money. Wish I would have known that before I spent all that money on motor stuff!

Ya  its an experiment to see how good of gas mileage I can get. Every one talks about reducing weight to improve the gas mileage so tossing out the engine saves a hole bunch of weight. Then switch from the brass radiator to aluminum even saves more.LOL

But we do have engines..

I installed a DeWitts with dual SPAL fans last year and 454 runs cool all summer... I don't use A/C so i don't know how much of  a diff. it would make with A/C on..
Bought the whole enchalada from DeWitts mounted. Piece of cake to put in. Two 30 amp fuses. Came across a 120 A chrome one but my old 63  Amp seemed OK. Make sure you have a good battery..
One problem I did come across was the radiator not being grounded and the temp relay would noy work. Had to run a ground from the chassis to the radiator frame...

I have the DeWitt setup too. I run A/C and in the desert with no problems. Yes you need to make sure the radiator is grounded for the temp switch to work. The radiators are mounted on rubber isolators so there is no ground path unless you install it.
