I'd suggest stayin around the 180...the 160 might be ok, but if the engine runs too cool(yeah...like
that's gonna happen!), it can create problems with condensation forming on the interior of the block, and the efficiency of the engine will be lower, also.
Actually, running a 160 deg. thermo on our cars really won't do any good, as the temp is always going to be more than that anyway...the only difference is it will open a little sooner than the 180. If you have colder weather year round, the 180 is probably a better choice.
