The core had a leak but it was in the engine compartment.I added some bars leak and it solved the problem for a year.I didn't notice the inside leak because I have two mats down there and I never ride in that side.I was out sun. doing a good vacume job and noticed it.I went over it with some of my cleaning stuff in hopes of finding something that will counteract the antifreeze.Ive got 99% of i dryed up put there is still some greasy film on it.The carpet is mint.Lucky I've bought a carpet kit last year and haven't used it yet.I used a heat gun very carefully so as not to melt the carpet.I just looking for some kind of cleaning agent that will get rid of the greasy film. The other day I used the heater and I did not get the
'smell" that we all know so well, so I don't know how long this has been there. There is no damage to the color of the carpet.I just need a neautral cleaning agent that will take off the slime.I'm 99% positive my core needs replaceing, luckly I live where I can get buy without it but it just bugs me when things don't work.
ranger3; what clamp are you talking about?Iv'e got the feeling that I'm going to bypass this until I can get it reparied.I seen how these are done and I'm not to sure I want to take this on myself.I just replaced the core in the 86 f150 and that was easier that doing a tune up on a 69 Camaro.
