Hey Guys, The air does not work right now and the compressor is just in the way so I took it out and it is in my cellar, on a shelf. Would like to store it so it does not seize up or anything, in a few years when I can afford to do more, I would like to put the original air conditioning back in runnin' shape. Should I just squirt some wd40 inside the compressor wrap it up in a few rags and leave it on a shelf or does this type of thing need a special presservative  oil ........or?.......  Thanks E.M.

noooo, the compressor has oil in it, just plug the two line connection holes, be carefull because if you turn the shaft oil will pump out of the hole,,when you restore it, you will change the compressor oil anyway, store it so that the two holes are upright,,good luck,rd dont put wd40 in it

If you feel the need to put more oil in the compressor, and you should not need to, use refrigeration oil made for the compressor.  Nothing else.  Other lubes in there will cause problems later.
