Can double latch fiberglass TTops from a 1976 vette be converted to single latch to fit 1980?

What is the best treatment product to use on weatherstrip?

Since my 73 T-tops are double latch, I assumed that the 76 will also be double latch. I thought they had switched to a single latch system later on. So you are saying that your 80 T-tops are double latch?

As far as treatment for gaskets, silicon grease is one thing that will be good.

RW - I could be wrong but I really don't think two latch tops can be converted to single latch tops or vise-versa, not easily anyway. The underside framing of each is set up to recieve the single or double latch mechanisms. I think you'd have to switch out the bottom framing which is bonded to the top FG or glass surface. I know people who have had their glass tops repaired by replacing the glass section so the bottom section can be removed for that process, but I've never heard of anyone seperating the FG panel from the framing on earlier tops. Never say never, but certainly post photos if you choose to attempt it !! Are you trying to put solid '76 tops on your '80 ??
