Hello, new member here and first post with a question. Does anyone know where G101 dash ground connection is on a 1982? I must be blind because I cant find it anywhere. Thanks for your help.

The ground distribution diagram I got from Alldata, but it IS a factory diagram. No prize for you, Dan...the prize box is empty...sorry. LOL
I could not upload the complete diagram...it's too large for here, but if you need the complete diagram, I could e-mail it to you. This is strictly the instrument/dash diagram, not the entire car.
I had posted here before the concept the GM uses for numbering their connections. I'll see if I can locate that, but it has to do with odd/even numbered connections being on the left/right side of the car, and it goes on to tell what part of the car(engine compartment-dash-passenger compartment-rear). Once you learn the system, finding connections is a lot easier. Then again....it's even easier to look it up on the diagrams if you have them!
It has always bothered me that most manufacturers did NOT specify where this/that connector/ground/splice was located in a harness, until the mid/late '80s....sure makes it a lot harder on us old folks to find the stuff....Dead

Oh yeah...the delay timer, if I remember, is either gunna be behind the glove box area, or under the shifter console, or in the pass side rear compartment....I just don't remember which place. Perhaps someone with an '82 will let us know.

My 82 GM manual says “The courtesy light and dome light delay circuit connects the delay timer to the 5 wire connector on the right side of the instrument panel”

Hopes this helps I have never looked for it myself.  I could go through my assembly manual if you can not find it or if someone doesn't chime in before tomorrow mid day.

By the way I'm guessing you do not have a shop manual for your 82 I just looked on ebay and there is one for less than $40 which is not a bad deal.  With our crossfire engine nothing but the shop manual will work for you in the long run.

I found that out the hard way.  I have a number  of useless books around.

Just go to ebay and type "82 corvette shop manual"  if his link does not work.

This book and the assemble manual which can be purchased from a number of stores help a lot.  Assembly manual is just a nice to have in my book but the shop manual with the help from guys on this forum is a must.

Thanks for the help, it's much appreciated. I bought that manual and I already have the assembly manual and access to alldatapro. I just didn't look hard enough to find the location on that ground. If I would have studied it a little closer I would have figured out that I didn't need to find it anyway. Now, if I can just find that delay timer I can work on how to post pics in my signature.

In your assembly manual look on page 540 Instrument Panel Wiring-right side.  Just below the "B" arrow you will se "ctsy Lamp Timer Conn"  That I'm betting is the connection for your module.

looks like it is just outboard of the clove box slightly below it.

It is behind the glovebox on my CE if you did not find it yet.  Mine was orange in color and tucked back up close to the window pillar.
