On my 78 my battery just sits in the compartment with just the negative and positive leads connected. Should there be a seperate wire from the negative for grounding purposes.  Also trying to find al the locations on the car(under) where there are to be ground straps, thought I saw something in the assembly manual but cannot locate. I know ther is one to the left of the hood release behind the panel which I can not get at to check but thought there were some on the underside of the car???

Sometimes my radio will work sometimes the red gen light comes on  and also still figuring out the alarm  relay bugs, so thought they might be connected. I have cheked the radio wires endlessly and for some reason they do not seem to be connected to the radio fuse for some reason but it works on and off and cannot find the problem and now the gen light will come on for some time then next time I start it it will not so not sure if lose wire or ground or ????, will have to shrink my body and take the seat out and crawl on my back to get to the fuse box and check each and every wire as it seems like someone added some to the box??? Any info will be appreciated, now to jsut find the time??? to do all of this??? Thanks BB78Unhappy

Yes  I bought my car in Miami from the alligator hunter???? It's probably the humidity  thats got some problems going.... It sounds like the ground from the starter, so thanks for all the info... still trying to decipher the electrical diagrams,,,,I know there is one on the left side of the car above the hood release and left but seems impossible to get to??? I just can't believe someone let this car go to such poor shape..It would have been a dream to drive it out of the showroom in 1978!!!  But it's been an educations on how/why they build the corvette the way they did.... Still many little things to fix that bug me but its such a stress reliever when I go for a drive in it!  BB78 Thanks again for your posts!
