My son was here today to help me so we did the vac lines to the diagram and made sure the diaphragms all worked and stated to put the dash back on.got the parts back on the new dash and worked are way around left to right.certain time I would start the engine to check switches and gauges and all was well. I even had the low gas light come on which never worked. When we got to check the radio it did not have power. Check all connections no power. Rechecked back at the fuse box and the bottom center plug my wire was loose needed a new fastener so fixed it and power to the radio.i believe the asses pwr.so continued on and got the console between the seats back together and all worked but the left pwr window? So started the car and I get a red gen light and the voltmeter is not reading dead to the left.just worked fine through several starts and now a gen light. Started to look at the wiring diagram but not an electrician? Long day and tired so did not get anywhere. I don't know how you tell if the alt is bad but why did it just stop working if that is it? I have a red and black on the back of the alt and meter says 12 volts with eng off There is a small clip that has red and a white wire and clips on the side of the alt near the top of alt. Hits show a reading do 12 volts. The red and a white wire that are on the clip come from the harnes from a red and a brown wire and goes to the red Nd white in clip??? Don't understand Both red wires from the starter have 12 volts, So why the gen light why the left pwr window and why no reading on the volts gage in car? Bb78

Ok making progress.

Not sure in what order but all have got the car runing again or for now.

Put in new battery,
pulled out the center instrument cluster and re-alligned the gold filaments which the harness clips into some might have been out of allignment.  in working on the radio might have squished the harness and its attachment????

Alternator is good, and the gen light is out for now and we will check on it tomorrow.

only thing is the water temp gage is pegged to the right??? Maybe another gold filament  with the harness attachment or maybe the wirew swender unit is loose or sender bad for some reason, was working before but I think it is a combination of all. With multiple restarts to test lights sytems etc, might have drawn the battery down and not able to recharge with alt sort runnings , don't  know but did read a post about the center instrument cluster and gold filaments getting out of allignment or touching, just took a while to get to it.

Again thanks for your posts and until the next mystery, which down to one right now the water temp gage????

BB78 Going for a ong drive tomorrow and see how she does!Pinch
