I thought you said that thing was melted when you opened it up when it broke down on ya? Or was that someone else?
Without that ground tang, the coil basically has NO ground....it will back-ground thru the coil/module. Annudder tip too...when you install a new coil or re-install an old one, be sure that the ground
wire with the eyelet(on the coil itself) goes to the same screw that goes thru that terminal in your pic. That will give the coil the best ground possible, and not force the ground circuit to go thru the casing of the coil.
