Good Morning,

I installed one of those tail-light conversion kits from Ecklers that gives me the dual turn signals/Tail lamps and omits the backup lights.

Kit installed fine...but I have a problem (standard)...

The driver side works fine...blinkers, brake lights...everything functions as it should.  The passenger side is another problem.

With the headlights/parking lights off...the blinker works...but it is slow. With the brake light depressed, it is even slower...and eventually stops.  Also...with just the brake depressed, the passenger side lights are dimmer than the driver side.  Same story with the parking/headlights on...dim on the passenger side.

I replaced the blinker relay under the dash with the one that was provided in the kit.  To me it seems like something is drawing the power from that side of the car.  Any guesses on what this might be?  Is there a second turn signal relay that may need to be replaced??

Please help...I'm not home for long..and I'd love to drive the car before I leave again Confused

Sounds like a ground problem with the pass side bulb sockets. If everything worked ok before changing to the new lights, that's what I would be lookin for...a ground issue on that side. You might try running a wire to the metal part of the bulb to a good ground, to see if that fixes it. If it does, then you'll need to clean the bulb sockets first, and then maybe trace the ground(s) from the sockets back to the bumper support area, usually toward the center of the car, on the rear bumper support.
It does sounds like a ground problem, tho...

Most electrical problems are ground related. I follow power like its water, gotta start and end somewhere.

Thanks guys.  I'm about to head out to the garage and check things out.  I'll let you know how things turn out.

Yup, its a grounding problem all right.  Pay particular attention to the wiring harness for the rear tail lights.
