Have a problem with my windshield wiper motor and temperature gauge. First the windshield wiper motor when turned on..no matter what speed its always full blast and when I turn off it. It keeps going not across window but under window it still runs go up and down a little for a while.

Temperature gauge not working. It was working before I replaced it with a new one. Now not working at all.

I appreciate any help I can get on this.

Thanks

Darrell

Have you changed the wiper motor or anything? Some of them will run up/down a little when you turn them off until they find the "Park" spot. That might simply be an adjustment. Only running at full speed all the time sounds more like a wiring problem, or maybe the wrong wiper motor for the car, which is why I asked if it had been changed.

Temp gauge not working after replacing it? Either the circuit board is not making good contact, or the gauge is bad, assuming you did not mess with any of the wiring under the hood.

No I didn't replace the wiper motor. I guess it happened when I opened the panel with the wiper switch. But I didn't think I disturbed any wires. Could something have come apart?

Otay, well...double-check the wiper switch...it MUST be grounded to the panel, and the panel MUST be grounded to the metal part of the inner dash. These switches need to be fastened to the panel tightly, and the panel to the dash, because the wiper system works specifically off of the ground side. If the switch OR the panel is not properly grounded, you can have all sorts of crazy stuff going on. A lot of folks are running a separate ground wire to one of the screws that hold the switch tot he panel, just to make certain the switch is grounded well.
So, basically, make sure the wiper switch itself has a good, solid ground.Thumbs Up

I believe you are right. It didn't start acting crazy until I took off that panel. I bet some how I loosen the ground.

Thanks so much for your help!
