I did get a photo to post. Don't think anyone will have a hard time seeing it ? Do you? Not sure how to change size. Sorry!

LOL  Life-sized pics can be an issue....I fixed it for ya. Thumbs Up

That is a core plug....basically a soft metal plug pressed into the bore, and then peened to hold it in. There are several of the same type plugs on the bottom of the carb bowl that leak, too. The best way to fix them without using an epoxy is to simply tap around the circumference of the plug with a small hammer. This will tighten the plug in the bore.
There is a JB Weld product that is specifically made to use with gasoline that will work. The regular JB Weld will not normally stand up to fuels...even tho they say it will. It does need to be mixed properly to work. Approve

Jim, +1 on peening that front plug to stop it from leaking. Never done it personally, see if you can find an old quadrajet carb body to practice on. .................. Regarding pics, try using Google Chrome as your browser. When you insert the photo, there is a pop up window where you can adjust the size. I think I generally adjust to around 400 x 200. Good luck !!

Too late to try the penning technique, I already removed the carb this afternoon. Dried it out, stood it up on end with the plug up so any remaining fuel won't run to plug area. Used air to blow it dry. Cleaned the area and scuffed it up with sandpaper, then cleaned again and blew it with air making sure it was dry. Applied regular two tube JB weld epoxy as recommend by everyone on the NCRS forum and my mechanic. Will let it cure for the Next two days, will reinstall after Christmas. Hoping it will work. Impossible to see this part of carb with air cleaner installed on the 73. If it works I'll take the minor point deduct at judging. It never ends with these cars😡 Thanks for your suggestions guys. Merry Christmas.

One of the secrets to mixing any epoxy is to avoid mixing it on a porous surface and/or using a porous mixing tool as some materials will absorb some of the essential chemicals from the epoxy during and after mixing.

If you are still having a problem with leakage, I have used clear nail polish to stop leaks. It is not affected by gas, and needs to cure for a couple days. It will take a couple coats. I did a stand pipe in a carb from my 1974 Hondamatic motorcycle.  The dealer said it could not be fixed, and charged me $80.00 to tear it apart, and I had it off the bike. Still works and no leaks.

Thank you, that's something I've never heard before. Will keep it in mind if needed down the road. I haven't put the carb back on the car yet, so I don't know if I fixed the issue.
