Hey anips,
I saw and read that post. Thanks. That is a great idea. I have a hand vacuum pump that I bought for bleeding the brakes and it is working great for the vacuum troubleshooting. I got a big reduction on the idle when I plugged up the cruse control leg of the system. I also removed and cleaned the IACs today. They were pretty messy and the rear (driver's side) IAC was loose. I mean finger loose. I also cleaned the inside port that the IAC pintal moves in and there was a lot of gunk in there too.
I have new vacuum lines to the MAP and to the EGR valve. The headlights actuators are working fine. I know I have a leak somewhere around the vacuum can. The bypass switch will drive the headlights up and down after the engine is shut off but, the next day the vacuum is gone.
There is a relay or switch that has a V line going to it on the driver's side wheel well that I have not identified yet. I'm going through my exploded parts file this afternoon. All in all, a good AMs worth of work. It is over 102*F in the garage now so, that is it for now.
