Thanks Joel,
That was my where I figured I'd end up as well, but thought there maybe some "TAP" in the engine bay I could use.
IT would normally come from a fuse in the fusebox, I believe....
Run your wire into the cabin and connect it to one of the "ACC" terminals there. That should take care of it.
Thats what I did - works perfectly.

 Fixed..

Found a vacant IGN socket on the fuse box and routed to there and now have a full 12 Volts when the IGN switch is on.

BUBBA must have wired this to the blower relay so unless the blower is on full, there is not 12 volts. Lowest blower speed was generating 3.5 volts, so that's what my readings were. Go figure Wits End

So....does it work now? Full choke when cold and opens as it warms up?

It all works as it should now, so no more 3spd electric choke mod.
The car had a Holley 8025 on it when I got the car in late 2009. Driving it back then with the Holley, at low speeds it acted like it had a flat spot or something in it and prone to cutting off then motor at times..  A potetial dangerous thing to happen so  that's when I swapped on an Edlebrock.
I guess if I get bored, I'll swap the Holley back on and see how it runs some day. The Holley looks to be fairly new and also has a electric choke..

I have a newer ,parts house, rebuilt quadrajet the choke takes forever to pull off. but it will eventually idle down on its own. any way to adjust it for a shorter choke time

The choke is adjustable. Depends on what type of choke it has as to how to adjust it, tho.
Does it have a large, round, black plastic cover on the side of it or not?
If so, does it have rivets holding the cover on or screws?
If screws, loosen the 3 screws off until the plastic cover will turn. This is the adjustment for the choke. You will see on the cover arrows pointing one way for "Lean", and the other way for "Rich". You want to turn the plastic cover a couple of notches to "Lean", and see how that works. It may take a couple of tries to get it just right.

IF the cover has rivets holding it on, you'll need to drill the rivets out, and replace them with small screws, and then do the adjustment as above.

(Thanx, Ken, for the pic!)

ok i'll try that. it starts great though. only two maybe three revolutions before it starts. it just takes like
5-8 whole minutes before it idles down. is that normal. My other vehicles are F.I so i might be worried for nothing.
thanks for the response I'll take whatever help I can get

2-3 minutes at fast idle should be plenty, unless it's really cold. Even then, goosing the pedal should let it click down a step or two after a couple of minutes.

5 minutes fast idle on average. Even if I gas it it wont drop off the fast idle. after about 3 minutes if I gas it then it will drop some but still not all the way. but it will drop off after 5 minutes by itself
1000-1100 rpm at first(cold)
next step down 800-900(after 2-3 minutes or if i gas it)
warmed up 650-725rpm
in gear warmed up 500rpm

oh its an auto(th 350)
