Well its time to pull the engine from my 74 vette. I hope to do this some time this week. I have an engine hoist ready but i am concern with the length of the front end of the car. Have most of you pulled them coming in from the front or do you bring the hoist in from the side. Just wondering how everyone else may have pulled yours.

I just pulled and replaced my big block on my 68.  It was easy coming in from the side.  Coming in from the front you will need to have a long arm on your hoist.  Good luck.

I set my engine in from the side. I think you would need one stout lift to load the engine in from the front. Its a long reach.

For my hoist on my 77 I had to remove the front wheel and come in from the side

I just pulled my 68 small block from the front be I had to extend the lift by adding square tubing into the end the the square tubing.  I used the next smaller size and bolted in through.  I worked fine but I would not do a big block this way as it was a little top heavy.
