Hey fellow C3V's!!

So, I have been replacing parts on my 1973 Corvette coupe with the L48 and am now looking for some suggestions as to what brand of Spark Plug Wires I should use? The set that I currently have work fine but the previous owner of my car was too much of a duct tape and bubble gum mechanic for my likings. As such, I have decided to slowly re-build and replace most parts on my car and am now looking for some of your suggestions as to a good quality spark plug wire set.

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

If you are keeping it with the original coil and points setup then a set from lectric limited would be my choice..they also do date coded ones if you really want that too..the reason why I would get these is that they will fit..not to long and not to short..the boots will fit and they will work..most all dealers that sell date coded or non date coded wired come from them anyhow..now if you have swapped to hei that's a different all together..I would get a make your own style with the correct boots from accel or msd...or a set from lectric also..either way you win.

Thanks Rich,

So far, everything under the hood seems to be all original but as repairs were needed they were done sub par for my liking. Needless to say, I have slowly started to replace all the parts around the engine with "new" but original parts as I want to keep my vette as original as possible.

That's great..I like the original thing..since I am doing the same thing..get the date coded ones then ..its only a little more and they are correct for the car..

Go with the Lectric limited wires. ALL of the other companies that sell "OE" wires get them from lectric limited...just cut out the middleman. The wires can be ordered with date codes, if needed, as Rich said. They also come with a really kewl diagram to show where each the wires go, the lengths, and where they fit into the shielding. I've had a set on my '74 since '99...they fit perfectly, and so far, I've had no issues with them at all.

I've selected the Accel wires, corrected dist. cap, MSD rotor, and E3 plugs.  As I was pulling the old stuff out I noticed some sheet metal behind the exhaust, kinda shaped in such a way that it makes me think that they were intended to hold the spark plug wires away from the exhaust - am I seeing this right? does this web page have any type of photo library for this type of work (along with other schematics)?Cool
