I hope this is in the right place...I posted a problem I was having with my tach and was told to check the tach filter. Well I looked today and I didn't see what the individual told me to look for. The disturber is new and was put on when the motor was rebuilt. I am posting two pictures of what I have can some tell me where in these pictures the tach filter is? Also went to take  out the car today and when I turned the key nothing car wouldn't start (no turn over or click).I took the battery(new 2 Months old) to be checked ,it was 85% charged. The guy said it could be the alternator or starter. I don't think  it could be the alternator because that part of the charging system. But I'm leaning towards the starter .I have headers and I'm thinking it may have gotten fried. Is there any way to check this and do they make starters that can take the heat?
       Thanks

p.s: Tried to upload pictures wouldn't let me.
So I have a brown and red  wire coming out of fire wall connecting to the disturber  and all the diagrams I have seen has the brown wire connected to the filter and then  going into the disturber. What am I miss

If you trace the brown wire from the connector on the distributor back to where it goes up into the main harness, and do NOT see the tach filter, then your car does not have one on it. The wiring diagrams don't even show it until '78. Confused

As far as it not turning over/cranking, it could be a loose connection at the starter, a failing starter solenoid, a problem with the neutral safety switch(try cranking it in neutral)....there are several possible things to cause that. Excessive heat on the starter solenoid will usually damage them eventually, but so does time. I would suggest checking for voltage on the purple wire(small wire closest to the engine block) on the solenoid while someone turns the key to "Start". If you have battery voltage there, then the problem is the starter/solenoid. If you do NOT have batt voltage with the key in "Start", the I would be looking at the neutral safety switch/wiring, or the ignition switch/wiring. hth
