Bought this last October, as our son (Marine Corpsman) was returning from Afghanistan.
Thought it would be good "therapy" for he and I to spend some hours bending wrenches and letting our minds wander.
Well, it didn't work out that way.
Instead, he married his high-school sweetheart and now his time / attention have been redirected (can't say i blame him - a happy wife is a happy life).
While reviewing "my" list of projects last week (with guidance from my better-half);
it's time to thin out the project queue...
The 77 Corvette project has been selected...
I am the 2nd owner of this Arizona car.
Previous owner was a 75 year old woman (Accountant) who bought it new.
yes - it's true. ... no - she wasn't a hot-rodder.
She told me she had only had 3 cars in her life - all Corvettes.
a 58, a 66 and the 77 - "Casper"
350/4spd/all original /red interior / T-tops / believe it's 149,000 or so on the odometer.
vin 1Z37L7S
it runs well - but does need some TLC. after all it's a 35 years old.
what it needs:
- rear suspension bushings (bushing kit included)
- headlights don't pop-up (vacuum line kit included)
- tires -
- AM/FM/CB radio doesn't work (powers on but no sound - maybe speaker issue)
- A/C needs work (new seals and recharge??)
- interior is worn, dash cracked, seats need recovering.
Understand the average price would be in the $10,000 range.
Motivated to sell.
Would be willing to take less to put Casper in a good home.
Also have several pieces of grey/silver Corvette luggage that came with the car.
