Ok here is another ghost that has appeared! The front injector quit spraying on my 82 CF the other day after a good weekend at the Expo in TN. Came home, put the car in park and bam!

I have followed the manual with determining NO fire to the connector. I have switched the rear injector connector (which is spraying) to the front and injector sprays. I have checked continuity of the white wire (power from fuse) and green wire (ecm control) from connector to fuse panel and ecm connector... no problem. I have ignition power on other side of fuse. I replaced the ecm with a new one. Any ideas?
I have explored all avenues from the manual and stuck! HELP if you can.
Thanks.

I don't know much about the CF system but when you tried the rear connector on the front injector did you also try the front connector on the rear injector?

Have you jumpered from the "power" wire on the rear injector to the front? That would determine if it is a problem in the voltage supply wire.
then, jump from a 12v source to one of the inj. terminals(inj UNplugged), and then with a separate wire connected to ground, key ON, quickly touch the other terminal of the inj with the ground wire. It should spit. If it doesn't, the inj is shorted, or otherwise messed up.
There are injector testers available that will do the same thing, but cost a LOT more!

Did you check BOTH injector fuses?  Each injector has its own fuse in the fuse block, both are 3 amp and located near the bottom left of the fuse block.  You may have already done this, if so let us know and I will look further. Crossfire19822009-04-03 17:52:49

No fire in the front connector so it will not spray on rear and both fuses are good!
I knew this would be a good one...

Jumper 12v to the white(or red) wire on the injector, with it plugged in, Then start the car. If the injector will now fire, then you have an open in the wiring from the fuse to the injector. Just testing the wire with an ohm meter will NOT determine if the wire is capable of carrying voltage. The wire may Ohm out fine, but a bad connection, or corroded wires will not carry the amperage needed to fire the injector.
Replacing the ECM shouldn't have any effect on whether or not there is voltage at the injector...that comes directly from the inj fuse.
I would "hot wire"(jumper to voltage) the white wire, and see if it would fire like that. If it does, you need to locate the open in the feed from the inj fuse to the inj. OR...run a NEW wire from the fusebox to the injector....

Found the ghost this morning and you won't believe what is was! But first, let me thank everyone for thier ideas and comments. They let me go down the right path.
First I pulled the voltage off the good injector at the connector with ignition on, car off, and got 11.9V. Then I did the injector connector that was not spraying and got 11.9V!? What the hell!!! But I still did not have light on the tester. So I keep the meter on the bad injector and cranked the car. Voltage dropped to near zero. Ok... no voltage under load, so I started checking the wires and thank GOD I started at the fuse panel.
I was getting a test light across the fuse with ignition on but decided to pull the fuse and look at it any way. No issues!? Now I figured to start tracing the wire... great. But then when I went to put the fuse back in the slot, I noticed my ghost. One half of one of the female clips that accept the fuse was broken! Bingo.... I was getting fire across the fuse but not connection under load.
The fix... I soldered a small piece of a wire clip to make the male part of the fuse twice as thick, reinstalled the fuse and got a light with the tester and ignition on. Boy was I thankful it wasn't a wire short. I must have hit the fuse panel at some point with my foot since the fuse is at the very bottom of the panel. Over time it worked its way lose enough to make a bad connection.
So... put the car back together... it fired right up and I drove around to reset the ECM and all is cool. The car runs great again.
Again, thanks for the comments and ideas. I'll be monitoring the forum in hopes to contribute to some one elses ghost.
KUDOS TO THE CF's!
